July 29, 200818 yr hi there i have a txt 250 and wondering how u bypass the fan so it stays on as have done away with the temperature sensor and put a straight pipe on! done this because the clip and seal keeps coming off can anyone help? cheers scotty
July 29, 200818 yr Your running the risk of burning the fan motor out if you keep it on all the time,ok in an emergency but could be alot more expensive than sorting the original problem out
July 30, 200818 yr I agree that it'll burn that fan out eventually but if you really need to, just connect the wires that went to the temp sensor together.

As mentioned, the wires can be connected to effect constant operation, but you negate the purpose of the fan, which is to regulate the coolant temp under various conditions. The fan is not designed for constant operation, but intermittant use, and replacing the clip that holds the thermocouple in will probably cost about about 1/50th the price of a new fan, which usually is only available as a whole assembly that includes the motor, blades and housing. July 30, 200818 yr Plus, leaving it permanently on will make the coolant slow to warm up in cold weather, which can damage an engine and at the very least make the bike run poorly.
