Are Cooling Agents Safe In Beta Cooling Systems?

Featured Replies

I recently discovered that the case on my 07 Beta had corroded just below the water pump impeller in such a way that the o-ring doesn't seal tightly. The bike has limited time on it (about 25 hrs) and was purchased as a leftover last Sept. It had the factory coolant in it so it was not a matter of using the wrong product.

I think the castings for the cases are sensitive to corrosion and changing the coolant is required more frequently. Ron at Beta USA stands behind his bikes and is getting me a replacement case in Aluminum. He recommends changing the coolant along with transmission oil with the magnesium cases. About every 90 days.

I have engine ice in my garage and will be using this coolant. Changing the coolant every 90 days sounds like good preventative maintenance especially since the bike only holds about 500cc.
