hi im leaning towards the sherco's over gasgas for a first trials bike ..now hence the username im 16 stones in weight would i be better suited to the 290 im looking around the 2001 models

The 250 will be easier to learn on, the 01' sherco 290 was a bit like a cr500!!!! a beast!

thanks cr500 i rode one once and that was enough does anyone know a company that makes uprated springs for them also

I had a 2001, 290 as a beginner (not now!), get a 250. I am trying to get down to your weight so I don't think you will need to mess around with springs for a while especially as a beginner, Suggest you try the bike as it arrives before messing about with springs.
