Rev 3 Throttle Cable

Tried to fit a new throttle cable to a mates 06 rev3. I bought a one off eblag which was a VENHILL B05-4-006 MARKED AS BETA REV3 2000. The outer is the same as the origional but the inner is about an inch longer and outside of the adjustment available.

We then tried a mates spare from an 04 rev3 which was supplied by lampkins and this again had the same length outer but the inner is an inch too short.

Various online dealers claim the 2000-2007 is the same cable. Does anyone know what the truth is? :moon:
