June 5, 200917 yr hi new to trialing i have two yams and one will only run with the choke on is the carb naff or might it be something daft cheers mick forgot to say its a ty250 twinshock
June 5, 200917 yr Either blocked jets in the carb or the engine is pulling in air from the main bearing seals,inlet rubber,base gasket etc.
June 5, 200917 yr I know this sounds daft but it has happened to me with a TY 250. Make sure the carb airscrew hasnt fallen out, it happens, and also check that the feed from the oil pump, if it has been removed and the bike converted to pre mix, has been blanked off properly. I'd agree with the previous c\omments but worth trying the obvious ones. Oh yes also check the inet manifold for air leaks.
June 7, 200917 yr Author hi all i replaced bottom top and reed gaskets still the same air filter then i noticed a little jet in the carb i missed the first time round guess what it was blocked it is sweet as a nut now thanks for all the replies cheers mick
