November 25, 200916 yr Hello everyone, I just purchased a neglected 83' Italjet 350 T Piuma with scrutineers paint marks on both hubs, engine and steering head. Two of the marks are still readable with Rider No. 26 in the paint dab. I was told it was left over from the world round in here in the States. It only has the single marks where the other two Italjets brought over competed in the Canadian Round as well. I was told that the rider broke the kicker shaft and had other problems and the bike was abandoned here in the States. I'm just trying to track down some history on this bike as I start to get it back together. It runs great but needs a few bits here and there. However, it is complete with a few exceptions. The shaft has been replaced and is missing the factory kick lever and side stand. Yea, I know, why would someone actually purchase a "kermitt bike" in the fist place.... All help is appreciated...I know you guys are a wealth of knowledge and I have yet to see you not being able to solve any world round questions. November 26, 200916 yr Good luck with finding that info ... My 83 240 pro was a works bike too . I've got every peice of paper that has been with the bike it's whole life , with the names of the involved people . But after close to five years of research and hunting , I've still not received answers from a few key people in my bikes past ... Like I would like to know who ported mine , as it's done a whole lot different than the other known stock 240 motors I have , and works really well . I was also gonna change the steering head angle on the frame I use and after starting to measure it and compare it to the othe frames I've got . it is a little different as well ! With no visibly altered welds , it appears to have been made different from the original welding stage . The top tube is longer , head angle steeper and it's missing alot of welded on brackets that the other frames have with no evidence of them being removed ... But the search for info never ends , good luck with yours ! Glenn
November 26, 200916 yr Author Glenn, Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you have been chasing down information for awhile now. Your bike sounds sweet and it's always nice to hear of some of the changes that were made to the works bikes. Good luck with the additional information you are trying to discover and get answers to.
