Youth Classes Thinning Out?

Featured Replies

It's early days but there are only 14 riders entered at Mansfield Maun's Challenge Lusky A and B round as this is posted. There's only until the 15th February to get the entries in so Dad's will have to move quickly to get the entry in. Funnily enough it's seven in each class!

Yes, I think the Dougie bubble has well & truly burst. The top level of the sport does not exactly capture the public imagination & what are very difficult financial times the current future for the sport isn't exactly rosey.

If trials had more exposure on the TV things would be different i,am sure, the trouble is that everyone wants to over complicate things. All we need to look at is what worked in the past? The answer is simple, KICKSTART or junior KICKSTART, its the one thing that everyone still talks about to this day, it was simple a timed course with sections where marks were added on for getting it wrong, everyone including the man in the street understood what was happening and it worked. If the indoor series went down this road it would attract more viewers everyone would know whats happening and from this the sport would attract a wider audiance. Bring back Peter Purvis i say.

Had it occurred that Gate Trials are actually Kickstart but sold in a different way? After all it's **** or bust Trials, make a mistake it's a 5 or 20 seconds or 7 million francs dependant where you live.
