270 Piston Rings

Can anyone help?

I'm in the process of stripping and modding a TY that I've recently bought, I've shortened the inlet manifold and lightened the flywheel and want to go the 270 route as I've done it before and was impressed with the results. The trouble is that I don't have the correct size rings for the piston I want to use, I have an IT piston part No 4V5-11636-00 2nd oversize 0.50 but no 0.50 rings.

I have a piston and ring set of 0.75 but don't want to bore this big if I can help it as it doesn't leave much liner left. :)

So can anyone tell me where I could get a set of rings Part No 2x7-11610-20 (161243 ) .

Cheers

Try Granby Motors @ Ilkeston Derby, they have a lot of stuff, ask for Simon in parts

Or Webbs Yamaha in Lincoln, ask for Steve in parts

Sorry you'll have to look up Tel numbers

Or Motoward on 01403 823222 or 01883 330049

They all have a lot of Yamaha parts

Or Keith @ Motolink on 01526 344443 , he specialises in old Yamaha IT's and YZ's and surely will have what you want

Or if no joy try Jim Patch on 01963 364411

or finally Govnor's Bridge - on 01827 712906

That's exhausted my contacts for new old Yamaha spares

Looked in my NOS spares and haven't got what you want in my supplies on the YZ/IT front..........plenty of 175 & 465 piston kits & stuff, but no 250 .......sod's law

Thanks for the replies, especially Johnnyboxer, that's some list of contacts!!! I'll ring round them and see how I get on.

Thanks again :(

Oh and thanks to Andy for deleting one of my posts after I somehow managed to post it twice :)
