Unfortunately, re-using a head gasket is normally a waste of time, but on a 2 stroke, why are you going to split the head and barrel? just lift the complete 'jug' off the piston. You can still get your hand in to de-carburize the head if you think it's necessary.

While Im on the subject, what's the best air filter......I have found 3 so far Putoline, Jitsie, and Twin-air. Think they're all pre-oiled, but remember reading about the amount of oil needed, and was wondering if pre-oiled was the right way to go ?
