totalshell Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 the choice boils down to amal concentric or dell ortto frankly many critsie the amal and change thier dellorttos for the scottish/ looking ta the scottish results though the amal cant be that bad if after two days of the hardest pre 65 sections you only drop 3! now that UPB and Armac have the stuff off the shelf then frankly its down to personal preference and for what and where you'll use the thing. the amal will get you in every club trial in the country the dell orrtto will give you some restrictions.. alan Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 you should also consider that the dellorto is easy to install (one piece rubber manifold from Armac or 3 piece from UPB) easy to set up, doesn't need constant adjustment,seems not to wear out to quickly and in some cases seems to use a lot less fuel....... 90vanman Posted April 28, 2011 Report Share Posted April 28, 2011 Hi, Don Smith and a few others were playing around with the Villiers carb to good effect.It seemed to work well, the only downside is the lack of an idle screw, in its original application the idle speed was set by adjusting the throttle cable. This can be overcome with a little engineering, and as far as Iknow Don never had a problem with entries, due to the carb being British. You will have to make an adaptor because the carb is a stub fitting. If anyone is interested to try it, let me know and we can see about making the adaptor.
