hi, new to the game and wondered whats wrong with bike- Sherco 250 2007 vintage, it smokes pretty badly and when i change the gearbox oil there is only about 250cc comes out, despite draining and filling it with 450 every 20-25 hours of riding! what can let the bike burn gearbox oil?

No need to remove motor, sounds ok, though you need to order in the special Viton seals if possible, day or two in the post won't kill you.

Get a clutch cover gasket as well in the case the original tears during removal.

On second thought, if they told you to remove the motor, you might want to select someone with more Sherco experience, such as a local dealer or experienced rider.
