hi all im changing my kick start return spring i have heard there not easy to put on so i need your addvice please.

I do it like this:

First unscrew the securety nut made out of plate,

Second unscrew the second nut that holds the spring.

Third I unhook the spring from the bolt using a self made spring puller which I have made out of an spoke.

Now the spring is loose and it is now easier to hang out the spring from the kick starter shaft

done, (fourth).

The reassembling is visa versa.

Aw, is that it? I've just ordered one, after breaking the original whilst trying to re-fit it, I was hoping for some voodoo trick. I tried chopping a few mm off it, which ultimately succeeded in fatigueing the metal. Might try that again with a die grinder rather than a hacksaw.....
