Am restoring a TL250E 1975 model, at present mostly powdercoated red.

What colour was the original frame,and what is the best way to remove

powercoating from the casings, fork legs and wheel hubs.

Anybody done this before?

Have just had the paint chemically removed from the engine casings, barrel and head of the Fantic I'm restoring. It was done by Ribble technology (www.paint-strip.co.uk) and has come out really well. The metal doesn't get affected at all and I'm planning on having the frame/swing arm done this week too. Hope that helps!

The frame color was called dark gray metallic. No number that I could find. The metallic is supper fine I'm pretty sure it's a enamel paint. the closest paint I found so far is Nissan 2009-11 (K27) or Ford 6663

I need to take my frame to a paint supplier that is capable of scanning a small area. My regular supplier needs a area about 2.5 X 3.0 inch area that's flat. No such thing on a TL

Thanks for the replies, the bike is nearly 100% original so I want to try to get it back to original.I need to get powercoating from the fork legs anybody have any ideas?
