February 14, 201214 yr I have read a thread about using an RD200 kick start on a TY175. I bought one and it does work although the kickstart boss is set at an angle reducing the kick stroke. The splines on the boss are shot so it needs replacing. The RD kickstart appears heavy duty. My question is, if I by a new TY boss will the RD kickstart lever fit on (i.e. the lug with the circlip at the top)? I know the RD level may need a bit of bending etc. I need a new assembly to work. The TY boss is around
February 14, 201214 yr I have tried various kick starts but the original works the best,all the others like you say are at the wrong angle and need fabrication to make right, keep looking on Ebay I have just picked a complete one up for
February 15, 201214 yr I tried one off a RD350, its longer, heavier, and teds to fall back, and worst of all that when standing on pegs, it hits you knee! Only good part about it, the design in the pivot shaft is better than the TY175 one. I heat bent mine to try and clear after market pegs, ended up going back to a new TY one.
