March 8, 201313 yr Hello all, Im considering getting into trial riding after a couple of years mountain biking and due to loosing interest in that im looking for a new hobby, ive had motorbikes in the past and this seems like the perfect way to combine two things I enjoy into one! Im from middlesbrough so im aware of charltons near guisbrough but are there many other places to ride near me? Im looking through the classifieds now aswell as ebay and piston heads to try and get a rough idea of how much to spend on a good beginners bike, looking at around 1.5k would people say this is sufficient? are there any particular makes people recommend? What engine size do people recommend? Im toying between 200cc and 250cc as 200 may be more suited to learning however there seems to be a lot more 250cc bikes which could mean I get a better deal over a 250cc. Cheers, Eddy
March 8, 201313 yr Nice one Eddie, Charltons is a cracking place. A few friends & I just started trial riding last year & love it. £1500 will get you a good bike. I ride a 250 beta evo which cost a little more than that but a good Rev3 or sherco will be quite easy to find. Buy one in good condition rather than age. The lads & I are also looking for other places to ride, Northeast Carting is one, maybe join croft motor club.
March 8, 201313 yr Check out Scarborough & district motor clubs web site. They have a practice area, its a bit further to go but has everything you would want there.
March 14, 201313 yr id go for a 250, go for a bike on condition. take a look at around your budget and maybe a little over as once you creep nearer £2000 you get some really good bikes. buy on condition and how it has been looked after. you will love it. as for places to ride no one really gives away their locations much as they are a bit thin on the ground, but you will find yourself a few places, it just seems to happen
