andrewzeall Posted June 5, 2013 Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 Hello I was wondering if anyone has the thread strip on the clutch cover on a 290 sherco? Im pretty sure there is enough good useable thread at the bottom of the hole so I will try a longer cap head. Has anyone successfully tapped it out to a M6? charlie chitlins Posted June 6, 2013 Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 Helicoil requires drilling the hole quite large...there may not be enough material. Loctite makes a thread repair that they claim is permanent. I've used it and it works surprisingly well.
