Removing And Re-Fitting Front And Rear Wheels On Techno

Featured Replies

Hi all, looking for advice on how to remove and refit front and rear wheels on my 1995 Beta Techno. Tyres are knackered on both wheels so I want to take them off to bring them away to have new tyres fitted. I've never taken wheels off a motorcycle before so any instructions on how to take off and refit would be much appreciated.

Thanks Chuck. How much play should I have in the chain and where should I measure that play from?

Hi, after refitting the rear wheel, (making sure that the brake disc is in between the pads not one side or the other) there should be enough space between the chain tensioner and the swing arm to just get your thumb in between.

Also whilst you have the wheels off take a fine flat headed screwdriver and carefully pop out the outer plastic covers on the wheel bearings and if they are not knackered get some fresh grease in there. This will help them last a lot longer and should be done every three months or so.

Hope this helps. B):lol::D

Hi wobblenorbed, I'll do that. Really appreciate the advice. Thank you very much. How do I recognise knackered bearings?
