Hi I have recently decided I want to start using my 2003 rev 3 which I used when I was 14-15 and ever since then It has sat with no use yet the other day it started second kick with no fresh fluids or anything done to my surprise(like you wanted to know my life story)

Anyway I am wanting to fix a couple of things that are needing doing and also maybe have a couple of upgrades for this complete novice,

I am looking for thing like an upgraded waterpump as I know the originals have problems.

general upgrades or maintenance to make the bike run nicely.

The things that I know I need to sort are as follows:

Rear brake – new pads , new oil, bleed system

Front brake – bleed system, check levels , check pads

Change gearbox oil and inspect water pump

Change coolants

Change fuel

Try to wire up lights

General clean up

Check front tire for slow puncture ?

Clean carb

Any advice, products and links would be greatly thanked.

Hi

I also have a Beta Rev 3 (2004) which I have just purchased. Overall its in good condition but before I start to ride I am doing or done the following:

Checked for corrosion on side case near water pump. Replaced water pump seal and drive shaft.

Done the clutch plate mod.

Re-packed exhaust.

New rear wheel bearings.

New oil.

New coolant.

New fork oil.

Bled brakes with new fluid.

Cleaned and oiled air filter.

Removed carb, checked and cleaned. Checked inlet and exit for holes in rubber.

Removed and cleaned plug.

Re-build side stand as the bush was loose and the stand was hitting the wheel.

Deep clean.

However I would be also interested to know if I have missed anything?

Cheers

Pete
