Hi can anyone tell me the best way to set up the carb on a 2009 evo 250

I just purchased this bike and arrived at the trial to find that fuel was pouring out the overflow. Stripped and cleaned it and it was ok after but the air screw setting got altered and the bike ran terrible all day.

Is there a best way to get to a base setting ie turn the screw clockwise all the way and then back a turn?

Do you have to pull the knob out before turning it?

Is there a manual for this bike at all?

Yes - clockwise to close the airscrew and anticlockwise to open. At full in the bike will stutter, and stop if left too long - too rich. Back it out to 1.5 turns out as a starting position and then adjust 1/4 turn either in (clockwise - rich) or out (lean) to get the best idle. If you have to got out 2 or more then you have a different problem.

Thanks, Peter, it was running fine before I had to take the carb off so hopefully it should be OK I noticed towards the end of the trial that the bike was smoking more than normal if it was running to rich would it cause it to smoke?
