Sorry to evangelise again but I think the TL250 is a good handling trials bike that gets amazing traction, I will concede tho' that thay are heavy and the rider will have to work harder than anyone else in the trial!.

Putting my money where my mouth is my TL is staying in the garage tommorow and I'm using a Fantic!!

Powroll do still do the pistons as a straight bore job, mine has an earlier 280 Powroll piston which works well, I have heard the 305 takes away alot of the bottom end smoothness.

I thought when riding a TL250 just how similar it was to a pre-65 bike I had at around the same time.

Same here. Some interesting comparisons were made to my existing TL-250 when I finished my Ariel Ht5 project. Ironically, at 225 lbs the "Millerized" Ariel came in just lighter then the TL!

The main real difference is that the Ariel competes against other great lumps of machinery in the pre-65 class while the TL competed against TYs, Bultacos and SWM's in the "twinshock" class! Incredibly, the Honda could hold it's own in the right type of event...to a point.

It is still in good conditions, isn't it. Might re-condition the dents at the tank. I rode this bike in 250cc and competed with other Japanese twin shocks, OSSA, Bultaco & Cota at my area. A good pulling bike.

It did not feel that heavy comparing to those 2 stroke twin shocks, but a no good feeling of engine stop while you accelerate & de-accelarate.
