January 6, 201412 yr Hi all. The fan is now running all the time on the above bike. It seems to have been doing this since I last cleaned it. The coolant level is ok, all I've done so far is check the two connections on the thermo sensor with a multimeter and with a cold engine it gives 100% continuity across them. Before I order a new one, is there anything else I need to investigate? Cheers.
January 6, 201412 yr Hi check the pipes from the water pump are getting warm? If the pump fails the coolant will trigger the thermostat but without the circulation from the pump it won't cool and the fan will stay on. Seen this a few times
January 7, 201412 yr Author Thaks for the replies. Looks like it is the thermo switch then. Like I say, the fan runs from cold therefore I'm not sure it is an issue with the pump (I bloody hope not as I replaced the innards 6 weeks ago!) but I'll check.
