Just Wanted To Say Hi!

Hi everyone, I’m Pete (you’d never have guessed) from Buckinghamshire,

I joined the site just before Christmas after spending a few evenings reading past posts. I came to the conclusion that you all seemed like a nice bunch of friendly helpful people and with my impending return to Trials after a break of more years than I care to remember, I thought I’d better join the community.

My Trials history started back in the 70’s with a TY80 on which I had great fun! A few more bikes and a few more years saw me sadly turn my back on the trials scene for the far more distracting and even more costly girls and cars!

Fast forward 30 years and I’m now the owner of two TY175’s of which one needs a bit of TLC and the other a total rebuild.

I have recently joined a local club and am looking forward to getting back onto the pegs!

I also have a bit of a side project In the shape of a 1959 Greeves......well a frame, forks, tank and swing arm to be precise, into which I am in the process of shoe horning a 350 triumph twin. When I say “a” side Project I actually mean several side projects as I’m also rebuilding a Triumph Bonneville and a BSA Victor, not to mention the various other machines that fight for my precious workshop time. Still all these “projects” keep me out of the pub and off the sofa which isn’t a bad thing at my age!

Well that’s me really, Looking forward to chatting with you guy’s (and girls) and hopefully adding what I can to what seems to be a very friendly and very informative site. Keep up the good work!

My job keeps me incredibly busy so apologies if I can’t get on here as often as I’d like!!

Take care.

Pete.

Hi Pete,

Welcome back to the mad world of trials.

I was like you in that I turned my back on trials when I turned 17 and then came back ten years ago when I was looking for something to do with my son.

Ten years on and it has taken over the hole family. We run a club with our son competing our daughter riding for fun and now my wife joining me in an outfit for some sidecar trials.

You will never meet a nicer bunch of folk than you will at trials. People who are always ready to lend a hand or help you out no matter what your problem.

Paul

Thanks for the welcome guys!

No idea tltel, but it's a cross we have to bear eh :hyper: .

Thanks Nelly1

Hi Paul, sounds like your living the dream, great to see you have the whole family involved. My missus has said she may be talked into having a "little go"!

I think the memory of the friendly atmosphere when I used to trial is a big part of the draw to me now. Can't wait to get down to the club and start "remembering" how to fall off :hyper: !
