Oset Heavy Duty Chain & Sprocket On A Mecatecno

Hi,

Has anyone tried the above on a Mecatecno?

Mecatecno only do the standard teeny-tiny chain which Adam has just snapped. The logical choice seems the heavy duty Oset one but looking to see if

1: the sprocket fits and 2: the chain is the right length for a. Mecatecno.

Trials UK were very helpful but couldn't guarantee either fit. Or correct chain length.

Anyone know anything?

do you mean the front or rear sprocket? as you have snapped the chain then I expect it is a #25 chain, this number may be stamped on the side plates of the original chain or if you measure the distance between pin and pin on the chain this will be approx 6mm, you can buy #25H chain this is a heavy duty chain and has thicker side plates than standard, to workout if the front sprocket will fit you will have to measure the dia of the motor shaft and the type of fitting, I think most osets are 12mm shaft with a 'D' type fitment.

  • 3 weeks later...

I thought Oset used #219H chain... I was just about to order this:

my 24" rear wheel/rim setup is in the mail. Probably going to do the swing arm extension as soon as i get a new chain/sprocket. Still haven't tackled the Kelly I bought but I REALLY need to do that.

I got this reply from steve@oset (super helpful and great company in all aspects of correpsondance i've had with them btw):

I was asking about a chain/sprocket replacement for when i upgrade to 24" wheel. Strange thing is that on their site the spare hubs they sell are 32h where the hub on my biks is 36H. not sure why they have both...

here's the reply:

"it [the oset 20] is a #219 drive system not 214! You can play with 219 kart
sprockets since your 20 Race has that sprocket adapter.
