No, not seen that option, but it looks like it`s only for the 38 mm carb, your not intending to road race it are you ????

Check if your fan is still on when the motors cold, just to make sure there`s no electrical or thermostat problem

Factory e-mail should have read, adjust inlet to .13 from .10 thanks for picking that up.

Howard - Interesting point about the valve clearance - my bike now has approx 27 hours on it - Checked the valves and the inlet are at 0.13 and the exhaust 0.15 ! - Starts good hot or cold. They have not required any shims from new. I guess it's good for the next 100 hours.

I have been messing for a while now with a variety of combinations of jets/needles settings and air screw settings for the KeHin PWK28 and this is the best combo i have come up with.

Pilot: 40

Main jet: 108

Needle: JJH in the second from top clip.

Air screw: fully in then 3/4 turn out.

Idle: 1200rpm

Compared to the factory settings of the Dellorto, the result is that the lower end is very smooth and stays that way right through to the top end. It has made a considerable improvement I feel.

I had a 125 main jet in and this was way too rich. Went down to the 100 and then a bit further to 108 and this seems spot on. Fan is back to cycling correctly also.

I will try a few different plug combinations now to see what effect that has now..

Try the JJJ needle and you`ll be at the settings I recommended.JJH is richer on the parallel section, which blends into the slide cutaway, and runs through to half throttle. Running on the second clip position means JJH is tending towards rich. JJJ gives a better bottom end tunability.

How`s it run upside down though, I`m still keen to know !!!!!

Howard, Rode a full trial yesterday for the first time with this set up and after overcoming a problem with a kinked fuel feeder pipe it ran quite well however it was hard to start a few times when hot. I also come off in spectacular fashion with a beautiful over-the-top dive into a muddy stream flat on me face She didnt want to start for a while after that so the problem isnt cracked as yet. ( although I saw on more than 1 occasion Gas Gas machines having big problems starting when dropped ! )

To ride, the bike is much better, Theres no jerky pickup at the low end like with the standard setup on the dellorto and the power delivery is smooth and very powerful.

There was a section yesterday that had a two stage rock step up a small stream.I tried it in second gear for the first 3 times but couldnt manage to get through it without a dab, on the fourth attempt I tried it in 3rd gear and from a standing start dropped the clutch and hit the first and flew completely over the second step. The surge of power took me back a bit and stalled it Great buzz though

on another note, I havent checked the valve clearances to the spec above as yet so will do that before I make any more changes. ( although I will get the JJJ needle as you suggest )
