Had this discussion before!!!! try this thread to for the various options. Don't get a Tecnho tho. It's an old design and for that money The later Rev-3 is attainable. The thread refers to clubs in the Yorkshire area so may not apply on that front. Ah I see you are an associate of an earlier poster and in the Leeds area ao the clubs will be useful.

Read carrefully the link comment, 315R is an easy bike for most of riders, weigh is not the main issue, not talking about of the difference of 1/3 heavier than other makes, the bike carries you and not the reverse. Practically, 315R is easy to maintain.

I picked up my 02 Beta Rev-3 270 for 1550 from ebay, hardly ridden. For 1400 you should be able to get an '02 bike on there no worries.

Don't forget you also need to leave some money for boots, helmet and gloves etc.
