  1. Cheers all for the replys, the shaft seems to be in good condition, so i think new seals and bearing will do the trick, just aint finding the time to go buy them

Hi all, i posted a few weeks back asking advice, on my milky oil problem The milky oil post Well i checked the water level and indeed some was missing, so i took the water pump shaft,bearings,seals out as recommended The seals had like a rusty water coating on them, and the bearing feels gritty, so im guna replace these, i wo just guna nip up to my local bearing and seal manufacturer and see if they have these,if not they can make them for aa couple of quid. Or would you all recomend i purchase the full kit are these special in anyway? Cheers Danny
  3. Will do, knowing me id take it apart to find there aint owt wrong yeah i power wash it after each ride, im always carefull around the exhaust, i do hope it is just condensation Cheers for the replys
  4. yeah been looking at the service manual, on ryp. it looks ok to do, think i might give it a bash this weekend if i aint too hungover

Hi everyone, My sherco 290 has been sat idle for a few weeks now, as on my last ride i noticed oil spitting from the vent tube on the left hand side of the engine(not sure the name of this tube). I was advised that the problem is most likley the water pump seal/shaft have worn down letting all the radiator water into the bottom end and mix with the oil, causing it to come out of the vent tube. I am just wondering what are other peoples thoughts on this, it sounds good to me, but would just like to check before i try to fix this, Cheers Danny

    Chain Tension?

    Hi all took the bike out today, First of I must have left a bit of dirt in the air box as the slide got stuck open once started (scarey moments) gave a blip on the throtell and all settled down, Then got going , until I slid down the side of a side of a small rock and snagged the chain pulling it off the sprocket, i didn't realise this until I heard a rather unusual noise, ah well as you can see its pretty well chewd up and after a few people trying to help free the chain i decided it was enough for the day, got home and its sorted But how do i now check if the chain tension is right? like with road bikes its a certain amount of play up and down?

    Its a 03 model, I already had a test ride on my friends (trial master) and it just felt good,They seem well built also, Yeh it is the part between the rear fender and the airbox, also between the airbox and exaust, i heard that water sprays from rear tyre and leaks into the filter causing problems, the windscreen solution sounds good so far cheers all

    Hi all I now have a sherco 290 and its been great fun so far, except having to seal up the rear end with silecone Has anybody got a more permenent solution to this or is it something im just guna have to do? I know i will still need to take the air box off now and again anyway but silecone is a mess CIA

I am now the proud owner of a Sherco 290, its virtually the same as Trial masters although i paid more Just cant wait to clean it and sort any probs, then give it a good test at weekend, hopefully TM (trial master) will have his back. I realy would have liked a 250 after reading the posts but this just was so close to home i couldnt turn it down,

  14. A bloke at our local MOT centre was saying that this is soon guna become regulation,, Well some form of MOT test,, Dunno if there is any truth behind this but summat im guna have to check out
