Fantic 300

Featured Replies

Hi i have just got my son a fantic 300

im led to believe its an 1985 model

it has front and rear disc brakes

i need help finding the correct fork seal size as one of the fork

is leaking

the 2 sizes are

Fork Seals 32mm x 42mm x 8mm

or

Fork Seals 35mm x 47mm x 7.5mm

i dont want to take the forks in bits as im not that confident and have someone who could maybe do it for me

also i wouldnt mind replacing the silencer on the back as it has a hole where the tyre has rubbed it (getting it rewelded)

i was thinking of maybe a newer style (less noise)

any help would be most welcome

thanks

graham

Graham,

The best guy to ask is Bill Pye, he knows Fantic through and through - best place to get parts for Fantic bikes in the UK. If you live near the North East of England, the address is

Frankfield Garage

Great Ayton

Middlesbrough

North Yorks

TS9 6BZ

Give him a call on 01642 722378 - he will help you out.

Just had an email from someone who gave me an address for a site so i can tell which bike i have.and from the pictures the fantic 300 has twin shocks 1983

but mine has a monoshock ?

unless its had a tank from a fantic 300 ? as it says 300 on the tank

im unsure will have to check tommorow in the light to see if there are any more things i can identify it with

strange though

Fantic 301 maybe?

I had a Fantic 301 around that sort of time.

Don't remember whether they did one with a rear disc brake though?

This is the earliest fantic I can think of and find with both F&R disc brakes, it is a 1987 303 model. If it is not this bike, it may be possible that you have got an older model that had its brakes converted to disc by someone??

Hello,

If you want to know which model you have then you have to take a look at my website: www.fantic.nl. And yes the fist model with front and rear disc brake is the Fantic 303 from 1987.

You can put two seals in one leg 47x35x7 - rst and 47x35x10 - rs (information also available on mine site look at "Restauratie 303 - Onderdelen".
