July 23, 201610 yr I have a TS 250 with the motor raised an inch, I stil have the standard aluminium gas tank so the exhaust is too high, I bought à Wes muffler and silencer, now I'm going for the head pipe. I think the Wes pipe will give me the same problem as the original, am I right ? Is there any other options ? Guy
July 23, 201610 yr You should be able to take 1" out of the vertical part of the front pipe & get it rewelded. The wes pipe will just miss the fins on the head & not touch the fuel tank
July 24, 201610 yr Author Cutting the head pipe is the last ting I want to do, I would not mind adding 1/4 or 1/2 inch . I have no reference to a Majesty here in Quebec, and I wonder if the standard exhaust fit on a Majesty first edition. Guy
July 24, 201610 yr Guy I make TY header pipes from pre-formed tube bends (from an exhaust repair shop). One 180 degree bend and one 90 degree bend is enough for one TY250 header pipe and they are not expensive. I don't know of anyone selling off-the-shelf headers that fit close enough to the head to suit raised motor TY250 and use the aluminium tank.
July 25, 201610 yr Author Hi David. I've been to 3 exhaust shop, as soon as I say the word motorcycle, they start slipping and sliding all over the place. The thing is, I never asked any of them to bend some pipe to make a.... I don't know tire rack ! thank's for the idea, as soon as I have a moment, I'm on the job. Guy
July 25, 201610 yr Guy, this is the sort of thing I am talking about http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mandrel-Mild-Steel-Exhaust-180-Bends-O-D-1-5-8-41-2mm-/261818493610?hash=item3cf5992aaa:g:7DwAAOSwv9hW2RQx
