It is not a direct answer to your question, but maybe a slightly different way of looking at it.

All the used bikes will have some stuff that will eventually need attention.

I would suggest that you look around for who will support the machine that you are looking at, how readilly available the parts are, and if mechanical assistance is needed, where can it be locally obtained.

If Ish is in your neck of the woods, you are home free.

Great replies.

Snow is here till March anyway, so me bud will probably make the plung at that time. That Portand bike does look clean!

The real key, I'm thinkin, is to get one that has been babied like that.

Lots of reports about the 315 Cota being rock solid. Also seems like you can get a bigger tank and seat for that bike, which we will need.
