stuessenhigh
OK guys...here's one for ya My kick start ('02 Beta Rev3) is broken... NOT..the bit you put yer foot on, but the lowest part..the bit that the kick start pivots on...its the bit that connects to the starter shaft, and has a ten mill bolt in it. Well, where the 10 mill bolt goes in,...that weld there, has broken.. getting there now... so... the question is. Do I need to replace the whole kick start??...I know I could probably have the weld repaired, but I'll probably do that AND buy a new one, so I've got a spare for next time. Does that bottom bit come apart from the rest of the kick start??.. I cant see how if it does Any help gratefully received...cheers

bob
hi, Mine broke exactly like that, but didn't notice for afew months. Just welded it back up and i have left it like that for the last year with no problems, I used a thicker washer and cos it's nowt really fine an ordinary mig welder. I can't take the credit though, im crap at welding, got this guy who does it as a job to do it. Bob

dmx84
I TIG welded mine using stainless wire. The steel piece polished like chrome when done.
