Chillout1983 Posted December 10, 2024 Report Share Posted December 10, 2024 Hi, So today I had my 1st ride of any bike with gears it was a bit of an eye opener I got on ok I suppose I just wanted to do the basics start and stop, however I had a bit of an issue letting go of the throttle when my weight shifted back and ending up with the bike in a ditch and me thrown over the bars 😂 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

totty79 Posted December 12, 2024 Report Share Posted December 12, 2024 practice keeping constant throttle while moving your body around, to learn to isolate your throttle position from your body movement, start on the flat. Also try to get used to using the clutch almost as much as the throttle, covering it constantly and using it a lot as a second means of controlling drive. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Try keeping that lever close to the bar as you learn how the bike moves and how to react with your body on the bike. As you get more used to the bike and finding your body position you can let it out more and more until you can practice with the lever out.
