TXT249 2001 seat

Hi,

I'm not sure if anyone can help with this, but any suggestions would be well received.  I am looking for a new/good used seat for my 2001 TXT.  After trawling through forums and calling dealers, I'm told they are no longer available (in any colour) and I am struggling to resolve the problem.  Any ideas for a strong repair would be welcome, unless you know where there is one, preferably in the UK.  I've done the zip tie trick to stop the mudguard flapping about, but it's not ideal.  If anyone has used an alloy plate to bridge the two parts, how did it hold up?

@andrewb 3mm thick sheet of aluminium cut to fit and bonded underneath the break point (Gorrilla Gel Superglue) and rivetted in all the best places to add the max possible strength. or find a second hand one in a breakers yard.

Hi Tr1al,

Thanks for the info.  I think the bonded alloy is going to be the neatest fix I'm going to get.  Scoured the breakers/second hand market and couldn't find anything that didn't look as good as mine (apart from it being broken).
