Go easy on me guys if my ignorance of the answer is obvious in the question...if you know what i mean

What are my costs going to be once i have my bike?

Join a club...get acu licence and just the cost of trial on the day? is that pretty much it? Is it a necessity to join a club or join acu ?

I only done 1 trial too many years ago and if i remember correctly i just turned up and paid to ride???

Im not being a cheapskate as i fully intend to join my closest club(if they'll have me ) I'm just a little confused with all the acronyms and the like.

Club membership can be £0 up to whatever the club wants to charge.In our case £8
ACU registration £10 But you need to be a member of an ACU Affiliated Club first to obtain a unique registration number.
Cost of entry = whatever the club wants to charge. In our case £15 for adults £10 for Youth for a closed to club event.
Other unseen costs £5 per observer to turn a blind eye.
Couple of bottles of beer for the results secretary to miss read the score cards.

You forgot the special free introduction to to a sample event with full accompanied tour option by an experienced guide subject to placing all your identity and bank details in a completly safe environment that only we have acces to and will never even take a peek at, you can of course telephone at any time on 0900 ??!!1XXXto cancel.. sorry ojoduu only ranting on about life in general.bdmc has just about got it covered but you will need a few spares & repairs ,travelling to /from events costs/ refreshment budget well thats another story! Going back to the free introductory day offer..it will of course be free with VIP bells AND whistles IF you bring a willing observer along..some clubs even buy em a drink.

When i get my unique registration number, what will i need it for?

I'll have to pass on the "special introductory deal" at the moment i lost my wallet with lots of cash in it over the xmas period and have had to cancel all my cards! but. just as soon as the new ones arrive i will sign up for the offer....i would be a fool not to !

To do trials run by an ACU club you need a trials registration card, to obtain this you have to be a member of an ACU club. You can get a unique code from your club so you can reg online, or print off a reg form and the sec could sign and stamp it then post it.

I think you still need a photograph for a first time application so doing it online might just be for renewalls,
