  1. Hi folks, I've got an 08 300 TXT Pro according to the frame number but I noticed a casting mark on the barrel which states GG25 so do I assume it is a 250? Can you check your bikes to see if this mark has a purpose? Thanks
  2. Afternoon all, I've just bought a 2008 TXT 250 (black frame) and have a random switch on the left hand side near the top of the rad. It is a little round rocker switch which looks like a factory item.. any idea what it is there for? I guess a dual map but there is no markings on it and I can't seem to work out what it is... Any help much appreciated. Wruffit
  3. After reading the content here I was having nightmares about bleeding the rear brake... but using the simple syringe technique from the top down, hey presto it works a treat! Thanks for the advice.
  4. Brief update! Had another go this morning and a better result (but not perfect). I got the exhaust much hotter by filling with petrol, draining and then burning it out three times. The temp went well over 100 degrees centigrade so I has plenty of water on hand to cool the metal work whilst blasting air in from my compressor. I could see the 'burn' had worked in much of the box (but not all) because the inner baffle was burned clean (ie no carbon deposits, dirt or otherwise) You can tell if the gunk is burning by a dark grey white smoke that doesn't smell like petrol.. (the petrol burning off will just be a black sooty smoke) Could probably do better but maybe next year. Definately better but as above not perfect. See ya
  5. Hi, you have the same problem as me and it does not seem to be easy to fix! I have two 2008 270 Beta Rev 3's, one has clearly been abused and is very loud, the other is 'as new' (still on original tyres) and this one sounds lovely. I swapped the mid sections around and the 'dog' sounded lovely too... The two centre boxes are totally different weights so I can only draw conclusions that it is really chocked up... and here lies my/your challenge. I tried burning it out yesterday with petrol (do a search) but it seems no better. I am a bit lost what to do... Hopefully an exhaust guru will come along and help out... who knows maybe someone will even offer a mid section repair service... See ya
  6. Wow, what a response! Thankyou everybody for all your input. As an idea of what has gone wrong: Wheel bearings rooted - probably down to lack of any seals... (did get some SKF replacement ones for
  7. I've got an 06 250 Rev3 and it is always falling apart.... anyone else have this issue, is it normal??? My other bikes are an enduro CRF250X Honda and I also have an RMZ250 Suzuki for motocross and neither of them require the checks that the Beta does...... First thoughts are that I'm appalled at the Beta build quality, but maybe with frequent riding at the top of my TO DO list, this is expected....... I try to get on the bike at least 2 hrs a week and OK I admit that I don't check every nut and bolt on every outing but..... I bought the damn thing to ride not to continuously check, tighten, glue and repeat! Any one else share the same frustration or is this a two stroke thing which I'm just not used too? Cheers Andrew
  8. Chaps, I am new to the world of tubeless tyres. Is it really normal to have to blow them up once a week or do you think is the rim tape or tyre is rooted......?? I can't see any tyre damage (am yet to take it off) Cheers Andrew
  9. He chaps, Fairly new to trials bikes, so this may be a stupid question.... Why does the 250 Rev 3 (06) vibrate so much when you really give it some revs?? Fine at low to mid, it's the top end that's the problem. I ask because I've had a few 2 smoke motocross bikes and they seem to rev out without these level of vibrations..... Likewise, is it normal for the engine to drop/return slowly to tickover, (I haven't fitted the fly wheel weight) it just seems to decelerate alot slower that I'm used to... on myCRF250X enduro bike and its kind of weird. Maybe just need to get used to it. Cheers Andrew
