Hi Im curious, how long does 2t oil last you guys? Ive been riding since May this year and ive only used about 1.5litres of oil at 66:1. It seems like such a little. I try to ride 4/5 times a week, usually 3. Short rides, an hour or two. Can 2t oil go off once opened?

........trials community, since today was the first time on the bike in 3 weeks! It was all going so well...building up confidence, riding over really really short tree stumps. I thought it would be wise to get a feel for how the bike reacts when going over stuff on the sump guard. Also I was having a go at blipping the throttle over things to 'pop' off rather than 'drop' off. One thing though that really frustrated me was after getting up close and personal with mother nature, and attempting to kick the bike, it just would not start. I seem to have trouble starting the bike anyway, I just get too excited, but is it possible for a bike to flood with fuel when on it'…

Hi guys, I recently aquired a 2002 Beta Rev from a friend in Arizona and I am currently trying to get it registered in California. All steps have been going smoothly with the DMV until they said I need a engine number. After going to the DMV inspections they could not find the number so they are telling me I need to go to California Highway Patrol (CHP) for their inspection process. While making the appointment with the CHP the officer told me if there is indeed no engine number than the bike is more than likely illegal to be registered in California. Anybody have this problem in the past? Does anybody know if the 2002 Betas have engine numbers and where they would be? I…

Around 2010 there were many reports of IRC rear tubeless tyres, when inflated to 3-4 pounds, going flat as soon as the bike hit a small step or a root. Many people put this down to the tyre bead being too loose, so the tyre would loose the airtight seal when it hit an obstacle. I understand that this problem still existed a few years later. Have IRC fixed this problem yet?

When washing your bike is there anything you cover up? I.e electrics, air filters, exhausts? I plan on taking my bike out for the first proper run tomorrow or Sunday. I know its possibly a simple question but if you don't have experience you don't know

Evening all. I didn't know whether to post this in the general chat or the Trials Gear room. Figured it wasn't really trials gear after all. Do you any of you geezers ride with a box to protect the crown jewels? I've never thought about it before tonight. Think about it. Knees apart, 70kg mallet between the legs. I'm still lousy when it comes to lifting the rear wheel, thought I'd try practising bunny hops tonight, see if it helped or not. I don't really know what happened or where I went wrong, but... I used a little knee bend & throttle to pop the front up and leapt up, pushing forward to push the front down hoping the back would lift and....…

  8. I have posted in the stolen bikes section so please forgive me for posting again here. It's with great sadness that our next junior academy trial on the 22nd July (and all future events for that matter) has been cancelled after the clubs OSET BIKES WERE STOLEN from one of our committee's houses in Halsted overnight. The bikes stolen were a 16 racing and a 20 racing model. Can we please share this posting far and wide and keep eyes and ears peeled for any information that may lead to the recovery of these bikes. As you know these bikes were for the youngsters of our community to use and ride for just £10 a go and these thieves have robbed not only the club but all of …

Can anybody help with information and photo's on the bike that Armstrong developed in the mid-80's, as riden by John Lampkin ? It had an Alloy frame and was a Mono-shock with a 240/280 Rotax engine, i know that around 65 were made and badged as Armstrong and Can-Am's in 1986, and a further 10 more were made as 240cc CCM's in 1988. Thanks in advance. Gaff.

I have a Gas Gas TXT 2001. It has recently developed a single sharp tap/knock after the throttle is blipped. I have owned the bike for three years and it has never done this until this year. I have never heard the knock at any other throttle position or time (load/no load) when riding. I run normal unleaded with motul synthetic at 75ml per 5 litres. I appreciate that at this age the engine is likely to need some TLC I just want some idea of the likely cause and the size/cost of the repair job.

The standard Beta pegs don't last long with me using them to try and split rocks every weekend. I've also gone through 4 or 5 sets of Hebo pegs in the last couple of years. Has anybody tried any of these? http://www.raptorracing.biz/index.html

I had a prob wih my 315r clutch dragging. From great advice from you all i now have a drag free ride. However i tried new and lighter oil which made no difference, checked the plates and discs for wear, replaced them with newer ones, but still the problem stayed with me. I took the following advice but only to a ratio of 5:2 and could not believe the difference. Well pleased!!! Hope this is a help to fellow sufferers!!!!!! "The stock clutch has 4 cork plates and 3 friction plates. The friction plates allow the clutch to be "slipped" more and gives it a very broad engagement point. All the Team Montesa riders (Dougie, Fuji, Chris Florin) use the stock clutch. They use a…

i've just shortened my handlebars, which has left the clutch and front brake hoses a bit too long. Assuming I get on with the shorter bars, can anyone recommend someone who can make up some shorter hoses? (Or if I don't like them, I'll be looking for new handlebars. 🙄)
