i have a basic idea about changing over tyres etc my question is.. I have a montesa 4rt 2013 is the front tyre tubeless or tubed, is there any technical information that may help me repair a puncture or replace An inner tube... or is it a pretty straight forward procedure before I get stuck in..

Any advice is appreciated

Tube type in the front, tubeless in rear, if its a small puncture yo might be able to patch, if large a new tube, if sidewall you might need tire and tube.  I am sure you will do fine with the video for the how to.

I would say if you cant tell whether a wheel has a tube or is tubeless would be your first lesson.

To embark on changing a tyre and tube with security bolt is a simple operation when someone shows you HOW!

Here's a question, why do they put tubed front tyres on trials bikes when the rears are tubeless?

In the last 15 years I've not had a tubeless tyre go down on its own so I can't believe that's the reason.

I thought it was because of the rim lock on the front... if the front tire rotates when braking it can cause problems.  Where in the rear your after the best traction and allowing a little slippage on the rim to not have pinch flats and keep the low pressure for best traction...

 

Not sure if I missed something but this to me makes the most sense.

Think tubeless front survived a year?

I remember having a Fantic with tubeless front, you think it is scary pumping up a rear, but a font tubeless takes it to a whole different level?

I am running tubeless on the front of my 4RT, using a standard Michelin front x-lite tyre.

Seemed to blow up and pop on fine?
