Been riding trials for few years and I m about to fit a thumb Throttle in one of my bikes! if anyone has positive input to offer like, technical data : stroke length of the regular domino throttle and etc, would be appreciated!!. prob a lot of folks will laugh, but that's usual in a narrow minded sport such trials! the idea behind the thumb throttle is simply to find out if I can benefit of better acceleration control, specially right after a big splatter or zap. when I put my body back to lower the front end, I tend to hold that throttle open and I've been trying to correct that for while. There are prob some other theoretical advantages of thumb throttle vs twist …

Hi, I'm starting my winter project soon - restoring my 1967 Bultaco Sherpa T. Can anyone recommend a good engine rebuilder not too far from Oxfordshire ? I'm happy taking stuff apart and basic things, but actually want the engine to work properly and last longer than the last 2stroke i rebuilt. Thanks.

A quick question regarding joining a club or clubs…. There are two or three within driving distance from me, all of which hold periodic events that I will enter. I’m new to all of this having only done one trial so far, is the done thing to join all of the clubs whose trials you enter to show support or should you only join one? I don’t really know anyone in any of them personally although the lads and lasses at North Berks MCC were very welcoming at the trial I entered. They aren’t my nearest club though. Might see a daft question but none are exactly on the doorstep and the nearest one only seems to come together when they are holding a trial from what I can see, i…

Let's start by all pointing and laughing at me- never has one motorbike caused me so much stress and made me so mechanically inept* My 2013 ST 300 Sherco (yes, it's me again) was getting a stuck carb float every single ride. Free it with a tap, then carry on for an hour. Deciding to try and cure this issue I did some research, I spoke to Splatshop and this was the agreed plan: Change the inline fuel filter, disassemble the fuel pump to clean it, clean out the tank, clean out the carb, replace the float valve, check the bore where the float valve sits and ensure the floats aren't catching. So tank checked. No dirt. Fiddly fuel pump checked and reass…

Hi I am new to Ossa and would appreciate some help with the identification of my bike, cc, model and year of manufacture I originally believed the bike to be a Mick Andrews replica 250cc approximately 1975. I have looked on Ossa frame and engine number lists and cannot find this one, the frame number is B430092 and engine number M430092. Also is anyone aware where I might be able to purchase a manual/service repair/parts list book for this bike. Thank you in advance Wiyon

Hi we have a couple of bikes, Beta Evo 250, Oset 24R and now a great TY80 that my 15 year old lad Matthew will strip and rebuild to hopefully a nice bike. My questions for now how do I identity the year / model etc. I suppose really I should not but here is the Frame / Engine number 451-111511 And where's the best place for bits. Cheers Mark & Matthew

i've just shortened my handlebars, which has left the clutch and front brake hoses a bit too long. Assuming I get on with the shorter bars, can anyone recommend someone who can make up some shorter hoses? (Or if I don't like them, I'll be looking for new handlebars. 🙄)

  12. Started by JonM,

Local trials specialist fitted a new clutch & clutch hose as part of diagnosing killer drag issues. Today's the second time I've taken the bike out... .. and suddenly no clutch. The fluid running down the hose reveals the brake line has worked itself loose. FFS. Should the union have a copper washer, loctite, PTFE, fernox or something else to stop this happening?

Just starting out in trials and was hoping for some advice with an issue I’m having. I’m now reasonably confident with basic balance and control on flat stuff and going over small stuff (up to say 50cm). Ive also starting rolling down banks reasonable confidentially, even steeper ones say getting on for 45deg+. I’m having an issue that I’ve experienced twice now when trying a drop off. When I practice a drop off on a token ledge (30cm onto flat ground), it all goes fine. But when I try something bigger or a drop off that’s onto a hill, I’ve had this issue that the bike starts to rapidly accelerate around when my front wheel touches the ground, it flys away …

Does anyone on here know of or attend pre organised or regular practices held at Milton Buzzards practice ground in Milton Keynes? I have been in touch with someone at the Club by email who has said that if I join I can get access to the practice ground but that you can’t go alone for safety reasons, which is understandable. But he couldn't really offer any insight as to when anyone else is there. He said to check the Facebook page, I did this but the last post was in 2017….! So I don’t think I’ll find out much there.. I just wondered if there are any regulars of the Club on here that may be able to shed some light or that go up in groups, it would be pretty han…

Hi guys, about to do my first trial (wish me luck!) doing an easy clubman level, as I understood that was the entry level for adult. At least at Richmond MC… I’m unsure how much fuel I’ll need to take. Was planning whatever is in my tank + a full gallon can….will that be enough?

  16. Started by Rosscorob,

Hi folks. I was looking for some advice please. I used to ride trials when I was younger and plan on getting back into it. I was looking at the beta evo 200 and wondered what the thoughts were in comparison to the 250? I would be spending am extra 1k for the 200 and I'm not sure if it is worth the extra?

Hi All, New to trials, so be gentle 😁 have been a road bike man since way back when. Just after advice/thoughts really. Recently brought a 2nd hand Sherco ST250. It came fitted with higher bars as the previous owner was 6ft plus. He gave me the original bars. My question is, as I am of shorter stature (approx 5'9) would it be beneficial to me in anyway to refit the original bars. I understand there's thoughts of what feels better etc etc....but was just looking for peoples thoughts before going through the rigmarole of changing bars over etc. Many thanks in advance 😉
