I have bent the front rotor on my 03 SY-250. It's not badly bent but its not usable in it's current condition. Has any one had any success straightening a rotor? If so how did you go about it? Any helpful ideas will be appreciated. I don't want to fork over the bucks for a new one. After all the front brake pads have hardly ever touched the front rotor except for mere moments just before I have gone over the bars. Thanks Doug

can anyone help me please? my bike runs very well most of the time,but it wont start when its on a gradiant! why does this happen and how can i stop it from happening? it seems to get a bit better when the bike cools down for a while,any ideas please? allso is there anyone who would be able to have a look over it,kinda like a service,just dont trust the shops so much as think they can charge the earth! thanks in advance.

just out of curiosity, what coolant do you use in your bike? just water or, a 'proper' off the shelf coolant and why?

I currently have a '99 Gas Gas TXT 270. Love the bike, but want to upgrade to something newer. Here in my part of the US used trials bikes are very hard to find. As such, my Gas Gas is the only trials bike I have ever ridden. I don't even know anyone else that owns a trials bike. Tuesday last week I threw a new front tire on my beta (Michelin Xlight), A job I've done countless times before, this time however I had to fight tooth and nail to pop it on, Just over 100 pounds before she popped on! (It popped and the compressor cut in simultaneously! made a proper mess of my grundies! ) I left it with about 50psi in overnight then released the pressure, Now this is where my real problem begins I've repeated this process 4 times and every time 80-85 pounds to pop it on and the same 7" portion of tire slips in when I release the pressure 12-18hours later I've rotated the tire and its always the same portion of bead that slips, confirming to me that i…

Hope this doesn't upset anybody and being new to trialing I don't want to upset the apple cart but at the last trial i did (only my second) I finished and didn't come last, got a couple of cleans but my points total was 93 on the easy course, well chuffed with that. However, in joint first place on the easy course were 2 guys who only dropped 1 mark, my thoughts are that should they not be doing the harder course, shurely there not exactly taxing themselves if after 40 sections they've only "dabbed" once? OK guys , who has bought a new 2012 250cc Gas Gas or Sherco, I want to get one but unsure which one to go for, have a 2011 Sherco 290 at the moment but after 5 months of riding it I feel a 250 suits me better, not been able to blag a go on either model yet so I was wondering what the people who have them think of them, good or bad ? I am over 40 rider doing yellow route trials so no expert, I know a new bike wont make me a better rider but I do seem to spend too much time controlling the power rather than riding the bike if you know what I mean, your thoughts would be very welcome,

Ok trials is really really hard. Had my first go (besides on the lawn). Lots of rocks and stumps. The amount of focus required on both what's happening on the bike and in front of you is insane. It's a different game from riding figure 8 on the grass vs. sharp wet rocks, off cambers and wet logs. So, much respect to all of you and I look forward to learning and riding more!

The sunday after next is my comeback trial i havnt been trialing for about half a year for various reasons and it should be interesting at this trial as it was the first trial i ever did and the first on my yam, now it will be the first on the gasser, cant wait to compare results. I know from a number of technical articles on the web that rear 'Race' sag (race is a bit of a joke or terminology when it comes to trials riding) is advised to be set at 30 - 40% of total travel - ie anything from 60 - 70mm depending on what travel you have (150 - 170mm). I have set the rear sag to roughly this figure now my new (rebuilt)shock has bedded down. Rider ability - non existant - ie novice. Can anyone give me a suggestion for STATIC SAG - ie for weight of bike alone - I know everyone will say race sag is the important measurement but this will allow me to check the spring rate easily. After about 15-20 minutes of riding my bikes just stalls for no reason and takes about 5 mins to get going again! is thsi something serious or is it something simple? any help would be appreciated!

Let's start by all pointing and laughing at me- never has one motorbike caused me so much stress and made me so mechanically inept* My 2013 ST 300 Sherco (yes, it's me again) was getting a stuck carb float every single ride. Free it with a tap, then carry on for an hour. Deciding to try and cure this issue I did some research, I spoke to Splatshop and this was the agreed plan: Change the inline fuel filter, disassemble the fuel pump to clean it, clean out the tank, clean out the carb, replace the float valve, check the bore where the float valve sits and ensure the floats aren't catching.
