Hi All, I've recently bought some tech forks for my Beta Evo 2020, with S3 yolks. I've managed to installed them fine but can't find any instructions as to the right height for the stanchions in the yolks. There is a ring at the top of each tube, I assume this needs to align with the top of the yolk? Does anyone know? Also, for anyone interested in doing the same upgrade, you need a 9mm thick M20 spacer for the axel (brake caliper side) and x2 5mm thick (ish) spacers for the brake caliper bolts. I made the wheel spacer by buying a 4rt spacer and cutting it down. The beta evo also needs an O ring under the bottom head…

It's been suggested that I put a "Beginners Guide" page (or pages) together on the site that newcomers or those curious about the sport could be directed to. Being a non-rider myself, it's not the sort of thing I fancy writing. With the number of people on here and the wealth of experience there must be somebody willing to put fingers to keyboard. Any volunteers?

I am looking to upgrade an 02 Sherco to fat bars and would like to have the height, rise, sweep, etc of what is on there now. (I realize I could measure this but figure it would not be real accurate.) The bars are stamped 60 507176 but when I go to the Renthal site these are not listed. Am I missing something?

  10. I've never ridden anyone else's bike until yesterday. I was completely new to trials before i bought a Montesa 4RT on the recommendations of owner and people on this site about a year ago. I have no problems with this advise - its a cracking bike and i wouldnt swap it now for anything. I got on with it well from day one, always found that the power tended to dominate the proceedings, i still do.... thats a 4 stroke i figured I'm used to its manners now... so i guess im past the beginners phase. But... I rode a Beta 250 yesterday... HOW EASY!!!!!!! Jeez guys..... no wonder i struggled at first!!! I'd just thought that all those people who asked why i'd bought an e…

I had a small ding in my fork tube which gave a sharp edge that would cause my fork seal to fail. I saw a topic on here that suggested epoxy. Just want to share my method and findings. I used sets in 5 min epoxy. Disassemble fork. Have just the upper fork tube. Obtain 2000 grit Wet/dry sandpaper Soak sandpaper with WD-40 and coat fork tube with WD-40 Lightly buff offending sharp edge. Clean fork tube with brake cleaner, being certain to remove ALL of the oil off the fork tube. Or the epoxy won't stick. Warm fork tube where the ding is. I used small propane torch, took 3 seconds to warm it up nicely. Heat gun would probably work just as well Quickly mix clear…

Another 'what bike' question, I'm afraid. The 315r seems to be a regularly recommend first-time-trials bike, the Rev3 also seems to get some good reviews and it seems can be got for around what I was hoping to pay if you look at earlier models (ideally under
