Hi everyone, I've been riding a Scorpa SY250 for 12 months now (a great great bike) and being a beginner it has served me well. Now thinking of changing to Montesa 4RT or Beta Rev4. Can anyone point me to some test reports on these or give some feedback ? These are expensive bikes so would like to have plenty of info before shelling out hard earned cash. Many thanks from 1 year novice.

My neighbors are going to vacation in Scotland next week. They offered to pick up a few Trials magazines for me while on vacation. So, my question is, what are some monthly or weekly magazines, available at a local newstand that I could request my neighbor purchase? Also, the price would be nice since I want to pay in advance. My son & I love trials and would love to have some nice trials reading material since very little is available here in the good ol' USA. Thanks, Tony

Did anyone ever discover the indoor coverage on Eurosport? The supposed time for the Sheffield event turned out to be a snooker match. I've not heard anything since.

Might have been covered elsewhere but just in case. I read a piece in The Times today about standard petrol in the UK getting watered down (obviously not with water…) from September this year. What the article said was that cars over 10 years old might suffer (sorry have binned the paper so ‘suffer’ will have to do for now!!) and you’ll have to use premium petrol. I’ve always used cooking petrol in both my old (seventies) twin shocks and modern bikes. Is it OK just to switch to the higher grade petrol? Any change to twinshock premix required? Thanks for any advice!

Hello everyone, My son (8) has been learning to ride motorcycles. He's also just recently had his first trials lessons (with me learning too). I'm a lifelong road rider with some experience of dirt riding in Spain, but nothing like trials. I'm a bit indecisive about whether to buy bikes just yet. On one hand, whilst I think I know what we need, I probably don't, but on the other, we're going for instruction, but then can't practice what we are being taught, which isn't efficient considering the cost of the instruction. Our lad hasn't ridden clutched before, but I'm confident I can teach him the basics of how a clutch works, without too much trouble. He …

Well Done Gordon Imrie on winning the 2007 Trials Central award. A very worthy winner and certainly from a North East Centre riders perspective Gordon has worked tirelessly to get results and future events posted as quickly as possible

Any news on what's happening to that likeable Spaniard Amos? There never seemed to a place for him with Montesa HRC after Doug moved on.

Sat wide awake thinking (sad *******) about my first trials bikes back in 82, a 1971 Montesa 247 Cota followed by a TY 175. Technology made a big step in 83 with the TY250 monoshock as i saw Mr Scarlett on one at Steetly quarry. I stopped in 84 only to return in 90 to see the Beta Zero water cooled and then stopped in 94. I once again returned to trials in 98 to see the hydraulic clutch to which was the last major improvement i can really think of. I was wondering what will the next major advances be on the trials bike be ? maybe gas only shock like on the mountain bikes or CVT gearbox. I guess injection two stroke will be happening as the new Ossa comes back to market…

Although I've been riding on roads and trails for over 40 years, I've never been on a trials bike. I think I would like to try the sport, but I'm not sure where to start to look for a bike. I'll appreciate your suggestions . . . keeping in mind that: (1) I'm 60 years old and don't plan on being in competitions - I just want to learn some fun, recreational skills; (2) I'm 6' 4" tall; (3) I weigh 225 pounds in my riding gear; and (4) my boot size is US 14. I don't look exactly like a Yeti, but I am sort of built like one! I would also like to start with a bike, new or used, that's as inexpensive as possible - while still being reliable. At this stage, I really don't …

I am looking to buy a used bike. As there are very few on the market in Germany I am thinking of buying in the UK. Where can I find good offers? I have been looking at the classifieds of trialscentral (of course), ebay, pistonhead and gumtree. Any other sites I am missing? Any way to find bikes offered by dealers or from clubs? Thank you so much.

I am planning entering some trials this year, around west yorkshire with my son aged 12, and am slightly confused by the different terminology used and also whether a trial is restricted to the hosting club, I am assuming that if it is not stated as being restricted on Trials Central and further a pre entry is not required ( like the SSDT), it is safe to assume we just turn up with our ACU Licence and entry fee and pay on day. In the 80's when I last did a trial, north of the border, I do not recall references to Very easy, easy, beginners, novice, conducted course, youths, clubman b & clubman A. Whilst I fully appreciate conditions can change on the day making …
