Hi all Just purchased a gas gas 280 to learn and play with. Based in Fife, Scotland. 47 years old and need to get fit! Looking for advise on all the basics; What oil/ratio? Tyre pressures, suspension setup etc. Also do not have a clue on kit, where and what to buy. I have experience of various road bikes, but no off road experience. In at the deep end!

Hi Everyone, As the title states i am new to the site and after some info regarding getting started, local clubs / Contacts / places to ride etc etc. im currently looking at purchasing a Cota 247 and wondered if anyone has any info on them etc also. I got going on a trials bike at the end of last year, and having realised that riding an old Fantic 200 was fun but heavy going for a 46 yr old I now have and enjoy a Scorpa 250. I have a fully equiped workshop and bike transport, and a practice ground. I am looking for a practice pal who would like to share the falling off and looking daft bit, and perhaps would like to join me in the comps I go to and visa versa etc.. I am a membr of the Stratford on Avon Club and have my evenings and weekends to practice and can easily arange weekdays now and then as I run my own business. Hi trials is new to me I just bought a sherco 250 it seems like It only has 4 gears with a neutral between every gear but no fifth is this a common fault can it be easy fixed any help much appreciated Thanks stilly

Hi I'm looking at rechromeing my barrel and a new piston in my 2004 sherco 290! Totally new to trials just looking for some advise to help me along the way As I'm looking at doing this myself bar the rechromeing Is it something I could do myself?

Good afternoon Folks, need some assistance with the paint spec on a 1972/73 Sherpa 250T. What is the red and blue paint spec and I have a problem with the clutch dragging after replacing the plates. Can anyone help. Thanks Tommo

Hi all, yes another newly to what appears to be an excellent website and forum to boot. I am taking on a Sherpa T80 as a restore project, it was started before but ended badly by someone not known to me. the frame had been blasted and powder coated, but as I see it, still with the swinging arm in tact! The engine also looks like it’s been got at and so it goes on. So decided it’s a strip to the floor job for peace of mind, who knows what I’m gonna encounter. The thus end, I Wouk do like to think I can count on some sound advice if and when required. FYI I am not a rider anymore, at 74 I enjoy the challenge of taking the bikes apart and restoring them to factory stock. T…

Gving some thought to returning to the trials scene. I started a long time ago - 27 years to be precise - and gave up when the born again road bike bug caught me. I have been attending trials over the last year as either a spectator of observer and although I enjoyed it. it's not the same as actually competing. Thing is, if I'm going to take trialsing up again, i don't knpw what type of bike to buy. I don't have a wadge of money ( kids at uni, etc) but I'm not going to skimp and buy a nail. I quite fancy getting myself a twinshock fatic or the like and then compete on the clubmas course, but will I end up frustrated with the bike ?? Also it sems to me that the twin s…

Hi. Im Dafydd. From west wales and recently had a funny 5 minutes and bought a 2006 Beta Rev3 200. The only bike Ive ever owned is a cheap chinese pitbike so its all a bit new to me except for the odd spin on friends MX bikes. The Beta was unabused but neglected really, in nice condition but i've spent a fair bit getting it up to the standard it should be at. Even little things i didn't like gave been replaced for new parts with some upgrades. Anybody in Carmarthenshire or Ceredigion on here? So now that its all up and ready its time to give it some abuse probably mainly in falling off it all the time!

Hi, me and my old mate kev have been riding on and off road for years (We are now both 56) and have bought an outfit. We entered a trial earlier in the year after a few practices and we were rubbish but had a great laugh. We have not been out for a few months due to a family illness but are raring to go again and are looking for places to practice and a few tips of the trade! All the best Andy.
