  1. I got going on a trials bike at the end of last year, and having realised that riding an old Fantic 200 was fun but heavy going for a 46 yr old I now have and enjoy a Scorpa 250. I have a fully equiped workshop and bike transport, and a practice ground. I am looking for a practice pal who would like to share the falling off and looking daft bit, and perhaps would like to join me in the comps I go to and visa versa etc.. I am a membr of the Stratford on Avon Club and have my evenings and weekends to practice and can easily arange weekdays now and then as I run my own business. If your intersted give me a call. 07501474974 I look forward to hearingfrom you. regards Joh…

Hi all, been into bikes since I was a lad now in my 50's and trying trials.i ride a xt660 for my daily and live in the east Midlands. I had a converted ts185 and really enjoyed doing bits and bats so sold it and got a fixer upper gg jt350 ( hindsight is a wonderful thing) but hey ho. I'm fitting lots of new parts and some second hand parts to get it up to standard. I'll be asking lots of q's regarding the bike so hopefully there's lots of techs on he🙏 thanks Jonny

Hi everyone Looking for some advice looking to get into trials riding as a complete novice at it. Have been road riding for a few years though. Have decided that I'd like to get a 250 having had a brief go on one. I have a budget of around £1500 for the bike itself. Is there any bikes in particular to look out for/any to avoid? Anything to look out for when buying one? Would be willing to go up in price if needed but hoping not to. Is there a big difference between the older bikes and newer? Also any other tips that may come in handy to a newbie with gear to get or anything else would be great Thanks

hello, My name is Nick, from ohio(obviously). and when i was a child i saw a few trials exhibitions around at a few of the motocross races i attended. now with my career being a mainstay in my life and soon to start a family sadly motocross has come to an end in my life.thus why i am here. i need some advice on what to buy...i am 26 currently about 200 lbs (i always get fat over the winter) give it a bit and ill be about 180 and ready for summer.... and i am 6'0 tall. the only real requirements are that i can readily get parts over here easily, i really dont like having to wait on parts to arrive. i dont know if this matters.....but i dont expect to be all that…

Good day ladies and gents, I am fairly new to riding trials bikes but have been a road bike rider for 25 years. A group of mates used to meet at Croft trials club (North Yorkshire) on a saturday to basically have fun and improve our bike control skills. I am now moving from North Yorkshire to Colchester in Essex and was wondering if there are any similar facilities in the Colchester area? I have a Dave Cooper rack fitted to the car so don't mind some travelling. It would be good to meet up with like minded individuals and groups in Coli, hey I may even pluck up the courage to attempt a trial one day ;-) Kind regards Pete

Got a TTR250 a couple of years back as a first intro to off-road in the form of Trail riding. Then discovered that the Hookwood trials centre was only 4 miles form my house so have started to wonder about having a go. Aiming to go on a Trials experience day to see what I think. Cheers

Hi all, my first trials bike turned up today (1999 Beta Techno),mad bikes all my life but my trials experience is limited to jumping on my mates gas gas jtr at work and promptly twisting the throttle wide open with the inevitable result...... Bike came from Yorkshire and jeez I could have done with a friendly face around to show me how to start it but I got there in the end my st be 30 yrs since I kick started a bike! The clutch stick from cold is savage and I read with interest the fix in the sticky, only prob is the have no idea where to drain or fill the clutch from!! I am sure it will come to me, I have seen the parts manuals on sites but not an owner manual? Trial…

I find myself enjoying the more technical riding more and more these days and so have decided to try and get into trials riding. I use a Suzuki DR350 for trail riding and have had it for about 5 years now, but recently picked up a MK3 Gas Gas Pampera 250 im fixing up in the hope of using it for trail riding, starting out in long distance trials and hopefully beginner trials too. Thanks, Hario

Hello, Total noobie here thought I'd start with this forum. I live in Orange County, California and looking to give the sport of trials riding a go. I grew up racing motocross in my younger days and have been an avid street rider for the last decade or so. Trials riding has always peaked my interest and decided that 2020 would be the year to give the sport a go. The SoCal Trials Association seems to be a good group and looking forward to riding with the group here shortly. I am 35, 200 pounds and looking at picking up either a Beta 250 or possibly a 2017 Vertigo Combat that recently came up for sale in NorCal. Seems like Beta would be the safest choice in regard…

  17. Hi All! I'm very glad to have found this forum I've tried my hand at a "fun" trial with Mortimer Classic MCC 2 weeks ago, on a KTM 300 EXC, and despite being on the wrong machinery I have never enjoyed myself on a motorcycle so much! 😄 So much so, that I ended up selling one of my other bikes to find the funds for a Gas Gas TXT 250. I'm now in the process of finding more opportunities to ride the GG, so that I can get out of the house and have some fun on the weekends. I'm based between Reading and Basingstoke. Any recommendations for clubs that allow practice trials in the South of England? Many thanks! Michel

  18. Hi Guys, I have been riding Enduro for the past 20 years. I've always wanted to do some cross training with trials, but never got around to getting a trials bike to play with. my current Enduro ride is a Beta 300rr, and I'm picking up a Beta Rev3 (2002) this weekend as my entry into the trials world. I live in an area on NJ where the terrain really lends itself to trials, in fact most of our single track trails are better suited for a trials bike than a full on Enduro bike and that's the way we like it! I've been watching the video Barry Morris has been putting out and it really lit the fire for me to get started (crosstrainingenduro.com).....so of course I…

Hi all, I just joined the site for the wealth of information and just the general fun of reading about all the happenings in the trials world. My main interest are in the vintage end of trials mx and enduro. I have a TY250,1970 Ossa trials,1974 pursang and a newly aquired 199a Sherpa t. I had a model 92 sherpa t that I should,ve kept, but I have wanted a late model sherpa ever since my friend bought a new 198b back in the day. Cheers, Scott

Hello Everyone, it must be 15 years since I last rode my Gollner Honda TLR250 mono but it still sits in my garage teasing me every time I go in and talk to my other love (no not the fridge full of beer!), a 1989 Audi quattro. Anyway, bike is part way through a rebuild and so is the rider and I hope to get back out into the streams and woods of rural Aberdeenshire in the not too distant future now I class for the over 40s group! As a quick introduction, I started trialling when I was 10 and worked up to expert by the late 80s' when I stopped. We used to hold Scottish Championship rounds on my parents farm near Inverurie with around 140 riders but when they retired from …
