Allo, Allo, c'est Reuben. I'm not actually French, but anyways.... -Have been thrust into trials. I knew it would happen someday... just didn't expect it last Wednesday. Not that there's anything wrong with this. No, not at all... Got a call from a nephew of Uncle Dave, who passed away in '84, whom I ran into at one of the Vintage TT weekends here in Nova Scotia about eight years ago..... won't bore you avec the details, but uncle Dave introduced me to 'Real Motorcycles'....I was scrummaging around on my paperroute bought CT200 when he happened along and offered me a ride....I was 11. I had recently learned the theory of the clutch, but had yet to put it into…

Hi, Congratulations on a great site, loads of information. I'm about to buy my first trials bike after many years of riding sportsbikes on the road. I'm too aware of my own mortality these days It's been 25 years since I rode my mates sherpa and I'm looking for something older to start on. I'm leaning toward a TY250 mono at the moment but have the chance of a 1991 Cota 310. Any advice on which would be best to start on or possible other options? Cheers.

Hi. I had a trials bike last year but got rid due to having nowhere to practice that was legal without getting hounded by the police. I'd pay whatever to go and practice somewhere. Does anyone know of anywhere in South Wales? Swansea, Neath, Rhondda, anywhere surrounding me where you can go and ride without having to look over your shoulder 24/7? There's no point in me buying a new bike until I've got somewhere to practice lol. Any good tutors out there too who want a teaching job? Lol. Many thanks for any advice, Paul.

Hi all, I joined up last month when some dirty scumbags stole my gasgas 280 from the back of my van, unfortunately its not been recovered! I have however bought a gasgas 250 as a replacement! I've been trail riding for years now but really fancied having a go at trials which i was enjoying before the robbery! I've not been out on the new bike yet due to a slight brake issue that i'll start another post about, cheers

Hi guys (& gals?) I'm new here and Jeez, I'm getting old... I did a lot of club trials and we used to go to the SSDT regularly in the mid 70's as a spectator. (Bultaco Frontera 370 Enduro.) Continued biking ever since and I'm about to start Classic trialing again. (57!) I live in Mallorca so it's gonna be a Montesa or a Bulto or an Ossa. Trials is big here if on the dry side! No streams & no rivers except when it rains. Then we get torrents that would wash away Ewan McGregor complete with GS. But there's loads of enduro & off-roading except in July/August and then the cops chase the young 'uns coz they'll start forest fires. (The cops have KTMs.) I'm goi…

Does anyone know the wire gauge to rewind a stator on a GasGas TXT? I get that I can measure the existing one but I can't get the flywheel off without the tool which is on order. How many volts should I get from the stator? I am getting about 10 VAC which seems low. Thanks, Kevin

Hi, I’ve just joined the forum as I’m completely obsessed with the Panther Stroud and I’ve been lucky to pickup a genuine Stroud motor for my trials project! Now I’m looking for a Stroud petrol tank ( rocking horse s**t!!) my particular obsession is with the alleged Springer Stroud that was built and sent to Sweden in around 1953!!
