Introduce Yourself

Hi All Never rode a trial bike before, dont own a bike yet either. Had road bikes for 30 plus years and still own a road bike now. Hit the big 50 December 2019 and would love a new challenge and hobbie that involves bikes and bikers and trials looks as if it could offer that . I live in Wolverhampton and am looking for a local club etc to get a bit of info into where to start. ANY help would be great at this stage Many Thanks Darren

Hello everyone, I'm a complete novice when it comes to trials. Live is Sligo, Northwest of Ireland. Day job is a motorcycle instructor when there's enough work. Hi has anyone done a mod to a 36a villiers points backplate to use some other type of points other than the standard villiers points.

My name is Dana Salsman and I live in Washington state in the US. I have ventured into the trials scene periodicly since the 70s. My dad bought my brother and I a 247 Montesa Cota to share. He told us that we would have to ride trials for 1 year ( to properly learn to ride a motorcycle ) before we could do any form of racing. These words of wisdom fell on my deaf teenage ears as I soon purchased a 125 TM Suzuki. My brother kept with the trials over the years adding MX as as another way to enjoy motorcycles. Hi there, I would just like to introduce myself,been riding bikes for nearly 30 years, cut my teeth on crossers, then moved onto road bikes, but a mixture of another terrible summer and our draconian laws have made me quit the road scene. With the ok from the wife I have went out and bought a wee montesa cota 311, a bit ruff round the edges butI will get there, I know nothing about trails riding so if there is anybody local on this forum please feel free to contact me, to teach me on this black art. kind regards john..

Hi all, Jeff here from Randle (Gifford Pinchott). I just bought an used 2019 Bete Evo 300. It had leaky rt fork and I'm trying to put in new seals in it. I'm trying to remove the bolt on the bottom of the fork. With the forks off I used an air impact gun and it loosened it enough for the oil to leak out. Now it just spins and I've researched the internet and cant find what I can do. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Jeff

Hi, I would like to know the whereabouts of Walwin motorcycles. There should be about 10 or 15 out there somewhere. They were built between 1958 to 1972.

Greetings, I have the trials itch but no bike as yet with which to scratch it. I'm searching but they don't come cheap, or frequently for sale here in Utah. I have a line on a late model Scorpa SY 200 but I am having a really hard time justifying the cost of $4750. On the other end of the spectrum is an 18 year old Gas Gas 2 stoke that's affordable at l$1500 obo. In between is a '03 Sherco 290 that has an asking price of $3k. I guess I'll cool it 'till I can go to an local event and see what local riders have to say. Till then I'll practice throttle control with my KLX 250 (actually a 351). So, howdy from the hot dry west!

Hello all from Ohio, USA! I've always thought the world of trials riders skills hoping some day to bite the bullet and get a bike. My main thought has been to use it as a practise tool for my street riding, I had dirt bikes off and on up till 4-5 years ago that helped with my skills. I'm almost 54 y.o. have back,hip and knee pain now and the thought of being stupid on a MX bike tells me NO!! I currently own a Moto Guzzi Breva1100,Griso1200 and a Benelli Tre900,the cost of tires alone leaves me with little money as I average 12,000-14,000 miles a year. I will be asking questions so please be somewhat understanding, Scott

Have been slowly rebuilding a Bultaco Sherpa 350. It’s almost at a stage where it can be ridden. So looking for somewhere near Dorchester I can take it for some practice (nothing to testing) not ridden for over 30 years. It’s mechanically sorted so if I survive, I plan to sort paintwork out over the winter. Any suggestions of where to practice would be helpful, have transport so can travel.

Hey every one,this is my mate IAN.He's never been off road on a bike before. I introduced him to Trials and broke his Cherry at Backcowm quarry. He enjoyed himself ,and so did i as this picture illustrates.

Clipic Cj 80 ever heard of it? Just could not resist, the company was formed by former trials rider Climent Picart. Now I have the bike and no information what so ever... anybody knowing something about spare parts, handbooks, manuals (...), dealers in Germany??? Its the bike for my son, looks and feels great.

Hi there, my name is Joachim, 52 Y and from Germany. Trials was a dream when I was a kid, now it is still a dream as I am a beginner in any way. Sometimes I just can't resist buying a bike, thinking it will run eventually. Newest one is a bultaco about 1970, first bike my age 😉 After spending some time on it I realise I am pretty clueless as there is not so much information easy to find as it is a Lobito 175 MK3 (think so!) Cleand the AMAL, polished some of the alloy, looks great, just like new, but no spark! I don't even now if I can easyly take of the flywheel and put it back on again without messing the whole timming up by moving it a bit... I think there sho…

Hi all just found this forum i'm totally new to trials. Used to do pushbike trials a couple of years ago but gave that up and have now decided to give this a go. Just bought a second hand gas gas 280cc 2001 model so look forward to chatting and learning. Had the bike a week so far and i'm loving it though i have had a off into a tree as my rear brake is none existant! hopefully get this fixed very soon.

Evenin' all.....I'm an ex moto-crosser, who's, at a certain age where pain is something I would rather avoid at any cost!. So, I've turned to trials, and absolutely loving it. I'm intending to get out with the local clubs very regularly next yr, (nnrd,Bognor,Wothing clubs ect). If anybody would like meet up and do some local events together, that would be great.
