Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone, having never competed at competetive trials, and at the moment don't have a bike, ( but did own a Fantic 250 3 years ago for fun only ) I do intend to sort a bike out and get some practice in before I make a fool of myself. I lve in Tamworth and are looking for somewhere to practice. I know of the place at Rugeley but have been told I will need insurance to ride there. Does anyone know where I can obtain this from? Also, what licences do I need, and where do I get one? Sorry to waffle on a bit and thanks in antissipation. :madsanta:

hi all , new here , new to trials riding , more used to my cbr600rr05 anyway got a '97 gasgas 250 and been out local a couple of times , absolutely love it , well and truelly hooked , looking for places to ride in the north west of england , any ideas ?

As you may have guessed I'm brand new to the site (it was recommended by a friend) I've just got my lad Andrew (he's 12) an old (1982ish) Suzuki TS125ER to learn on He has been having lessons at a place called BUMPY near Leeds where you can take your trial bike and ride to your hearts content - some of you may have already heard or even used this place, they have been really friendly and helpful and I recommend them highly to anyone who is looking to get into off roading. They don't allow crossers either - which can only be a good thing as they would probably bring the fatality figures above what their liability insurance will allow!!! hi all, im in desperate need of some help. i have a 95 250 gasser, which was in a box in peices up until a few weeks ago.im re building her, but i have come unstuck on the electrics, im sure i have it all plugged right but i cant seem to work out how it all bolts onto the bike, does any one have a JT that they could take the tank off and take a photo? it would be greatly apprieciated!!!!!!!

First posts on forums are always difficult, but here goes..... Fat and over forty, I've been competing in enduros and rallies for quite a number of years, but have decided to take up trials riding. With this in mind, I've recently purchased an '03 Gas Gas 250 TXT PRO. Quite a revelation, and so easy to ride (on my drive ), I wish I had done it years ago. I'll be looking to enter a few local events in the new year, so any tips and pointers would be more than welcome. I went and had a look at a couple of sections at an event in Dover a couple of weeks ago, and decided that it was do-able (though the ground conditions were good).

Just thought i'd say hi. Im live near Glossop and have just bought a TXT 270. Couple of work chums have returned to trials, so I've joined in to show em a few tricks.... Probably frequenting Hawksnest on the Buxton to Leek road, so if you see a complete idiot wobbling around with too older guys with all the gear and no idea, be sure to say hi..... Kieran

Hi I did trial from 1986 to 1993. Since then I have been doing rally, motocross and enduro. In the spring one of my old friends invited me to do a trial on his new trial bike. It was so fun, so 2 month later the enduro was sold and a brand new GasGas 280 was ready to go. I look forward to shearing the wisdom of trial with your guys (and girls) :-) Mud for ever Thomas

I just jumped in, somewhere in Februari this year, but realises that nobody knew me then, or now I am the guy from overseas, an elderly young of 42 years, who started in Januari when i found it was time to follow up my childs dream. I bought myself a Pro 250cc Gasser from a frensch speaking belgian to discover at home that french speaking belgians don't like to clean airfilters. So this brings me to my other hobby, wrenching. I am not professionally skilled but that won't bother me a bit. I have made some expensive errors along the way, like seized pistons etc but nothing that stopped me permantely. Hello, This is the only motorcycle trials site ive found !! loads of silly "bike trials" Anyway,..Reading the other post, i too am a yorkshire man. My bike is at my West yorkshire in the Pontefract/ barnsley area, but i have just moved to the edge of sheffield. Im building up my bike as its in the box !! my old man stripped it and i want to play on it now. Havnt really had the cash to always have a bike, so ive ended up having a 1979 sherpa t and a Montesa-honda 349, so im gonna bug you all alittle for riding and tech info....i hope,..and obviously share in the community. ....ok ive gone on alittle now... ...soz Mat

Hi folks I'm an old fogey who should probably know better, but I'd like to have a go at trials. I've been attending meetings in Kent, Sussex, Somerset and Devon sporadically for years just to watch, and have always found the sport fascinating - but I've never had a go. Is there any way to try it out first to see if you like it, before spending on a bike/trailer etc? A 'trials school' or similar? I'm in the UK, in Burnham-on-Sea, on the Somerset coast. TIA Barry
