Introduce Yourself

I'm new to this so I hope it works! I need a new bike for LDT's ( ie approx 70 mile trials / mixture of road and lanes + 30 odd sections ). These are great events but being in the late 50's I'm looking for a bike thats light and easy to ride. I've narrowed the choice down to a Scorpa sy250 long ride or a Montesa 4rt with one of the aftermarket long range seat tank units. The problem is deciding which. Does anybody have any advice on which is the better bike for this sort of event? Thanks for any help. Pete

Hi folks, My name is Kev and I live in Northumberland. I've got a trail bike at the minute but I never use it and then this weekend just gone I went to my first trial (Bedlington & Distric MC) to practice my photography and I'm dying to have a go now. Before I take the plunge and sell the KTM though I want to find somewhere to get some instruction, hire a bike, do some training you know the kind of thing. Hi I am looking to get a trials bike and have seen a 2000 Sherco 250 at 1100 quid. Seemd OK bar a few scuffs on the plastics small mark on one fork stanchion. Is registered (aug 2000) and seems OK. Guy says never trialed and gas been used for fun only. Is this a reasonable price? Should I buy a GG or Montesa? My budget is 1100 quid but could stretch to 1200 - need to buy one which doesnt need spending on. I am in Warrington Cheshire have a couple of mates who have just bought Trials bikes and looking to get out soon once I got a bike So any advice on great places to practice would be welcome. hello, im back to riding trials bikes after 20 years(just pottering around and watching), just brought a 1984 yamaha ty125 so i can take it on the road until i pass my full test. anyway i have 3 questions to start. a) Is there any trials shops in sussex? i want to get a trials helmet but dont know what size to get? B)I have some o'neal motorcross boots and they are very heavy are trials boots lighter? c) and finally when is the next trial in the brighton area? please help!

Hi all, Just a quick hello Just started entering for trials about a month ago, never been on a trials bike before till about 6 months ago have entered a few trials so far & keep getting the wooden spoon!! every time i dont care tho cause i love it. 2nd last would be better tho does the suspension setup matter on the bikes? I've got a 2002 Beta 250, just got it had a 2002 Sherco 290 before, got rid because it was more like a scrambler, couldnt master the throttle on it, it was all or nothing with it! any tips appreciated, Cheers Steve

Just want to say Hi and say that you got a very nice site here. Lots of good information and very helpful people. Well a little about my self, I have been riding dirt bikes all of my life, this started when two of my friends got these trials bike and took me along, well as you can see here I am. One thing for sure I do like it. I am looking forward to this new style of riding.

Allo folks, I'm the proud new owner of a 2000 gas gas 280, and pretty new to trials in general, had a Fantic 245 about 5 yrs ago, had it about a month befor it got pinched, I did manage to get out and make a complete abortion of an event I entered, the term " WOBBLER" didn't even come close to describing how bad I was.. Anyway I live in Essex, train driver on the underground and part time Tattooist, got loads o kids.. usual stuff... Hi everyone. Say hi to probably the heaviest trials rider in the country lol. I got myself one of these trials bike things,due to my mate badgering to get one . And ride it instead of my road bike through the winter. Best decision I've made in years .I must say it don't half knacker you out riding one. Anyway roll on the next trial. Tho I must learn to stop chucking the bike all over the place, otherwise it's gonna become an expensive hobby. TTFN Leigh
