Hi , I live in Australia and am 46yrs old!My father was a motorcycle dealer in Tasmania. I Rode trials as a kid then went on to motocross then circuit racing for kawasaki and suzuki. Retired for 10 years and then rode supermoto for yamaha and then husqvarna until a nasty leg brake. I have a 9yr old daughter Hilary who has just got a gas gas 80.I have an old italjet 350 that i inherited and will cruise along with Hilary and have some fun in the local trial scene here ,whom are a fantasic group of enthusiasts ! Hi guys , I'm looking to dipping my toes into trials .. I've always had Mx/Enduro bikes , currently got a TM racing en 250 , but never owned a trials bike before .. I'm only looking to spend around £2000 , for that price what bike would you guys recommend ? Are there any bikes that are noticeably better or worse than the rest ? Any input will be very much appreciated

Hi Everyone. I am seriously thinking about getting back into Trials Riding. It has been more than 30 years since I rode a Bike at all. In the mid 70's I had a Montesa cota mk1, and then an OSSA for a very brief time ending up with a Honda. Are there any clubs catering for older guys coming back? I would I guess have to start again and enter just Novice trials. How about Bikes, I don't recognise any of the names I see Montesa are still around as a 4 stroke, would it be unfair to ask which bike I should look at?, How much should I spend> I could afford a new bike but I would be happy to spend a lot less, where's the best place to buy? Any of the old gang still here? It's been a looooong time. I've been out of the sport and concentrating on music and other endeavors. I'm getting a full knee replacement in a month, so what have I done? Going to pick up a very lightly-used '01 Scorpa this Friday. When I get my knee sorted, I want to ride again. My youngest son is 7 now, and has been up on a 2-wheel pedal bike since a week after his third birthday. He's an amazing mountain bike rider, but I've been holding off on engines...maybe not for too much longer...he's crazy talented.

Hi All, I've just picked up a bike after about ten years out of the game. I used to practice at Back Cowm and Cliviger (and other places it seems sadly are no longer an option). There used to be a big group of us when I was a kid challenging each other and they all slowly disappeared one by one. I can practice mid week and weekends depending on work be good to meet some new folks if anyone fancies a practice session. Got myself an Evo 300 - awesome bit of kit. Cheers. Lee

hi, Back in the day,(80 s),..I had a mate, who was pretty good on a trials bike,. Entered the six day etc.,..and had good equipment,. I used to go along with him to help out now and again,. And used to have the odd potter around on his bikes. At the time,. I was more into car racing, and used to do auto grass,. But the usual things came along(mortgage /Kids),..and that was that. Can anyone advise the weight of my 1970 244cc Bultaco Sherpa please, also apart from eBay would like to purchase a manual so I can do some "tinkering" with the new love of my life , taking it for a daytime mot , testing station said, no need for lights, horn, just a number plate, adhesive will suffice ! Why can I NEVER be happy? Started out riding (or at least TRYING to ride!) trials last year with a TY250. Too heavy, but a beautiful bike, so found a TY175. Love how light and stong it is. Until I spotted a Can-Am 350! My first bike was a Can-Am MX-1 and have a T'nt and MX bike once again. Please stop me and tell me I am an idiot. The TY is so pretty and nice. The Can-Am would look totally different than all the other bikes. And my riding skills are still in the learning/falling process, so maybe I should just have two bikes?!?! well after reaching my mid forties i thought it was about time to put my feet up (excuse the pun) and have another go at trials after a 20 year absence so i bought myself a Gas Gas 250 two years ago (a mid life crisis 250 as my wife calls it ) with the intention doing a few local events, but like all the best laid plans the banana skin was just round the corner i became a father again so all the free time i thought i was going to fill with the trials bike just disappeared so here i am two years later my youngest is up and about ...kind off and iv'e now been given the green light to get back out again .....so im looking some easy local trials or practice areas just…

How do you find out where Trials are? I found the ACU East Midland events list, but they only state the club, not the location...!?!

Hi guys & girls I have just bought a new to me, Beta Rev 3 (2001) which is a nice clean bike for its age It was bought so that my son and I could improve our bike control and finesse (and have a lot of FUN!!!) I have been riding for over 20 years on the roads & tracks, and got into the 'offroad' scene about 3 years ago. I have been mainly trail riding on my KTM 300exc, and have done a couple of events. Hi, great forum for an old trialer. Does anyone know how i get an age-related certificate for my yamaha ty250 mono? as i dont want a Q plate. I regestered my old norton without a hitch as vintage m/c club varified its date but i am having trouble to find who can do a yamaha. It has 86 on the wheels so its probably a 1987 bike but DVLA wont take it as fact. Thanks Dave

I'm new to this site, so if I'm posting in the wrong area...sorry, please advise. My issue is, I'm re-building an old TY-250, 1974, awaiting a new electronic ignition, new throttle cable that replaces the forked one that controlled the oil injector, and a plate to block the old port for the worm gear that drives the oil injector. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to identify the rear shocks that came with the bike. They are definably after market shocks, red in color and have an air stem at the bottom. I have seen these shocks on other vintage bikes. My question is: What is the manufacturer name? Can the shocks be rebuilt? What is the recommended pressure for a 200 lb …

Hi all, I've been riding bikes of all kinds for over twenty years. Mostly of the off road variety, including two trials irons. A fantic 125 twin shock which jumped out of gear going up hills and was an all round dog, and more recently (about seven years ago) a ty pinkie. The pinkie is probably my favourite bike of all I've owned. It was ridden regularly on private land until four years ago when divorce, marriage and child no.3 happened.
