Hi guys and girls, just joined the gang The last trials bike I owned was a 1992 ty 250 in 1996 and competed in a few local trials and loved it. Then I joined the Royal Navy for 5 years and then got Married and had 2 kids , so I have been busy the last few years. Now I have my weekends back I am looking to get back into it asap. I live in Merseyside and the last club I was in was around the Frodsham area but I can not remember the club name but I will have to find it on the net. So then the advice I need is what bike? Hi all, just thort I would introduce myself , I've just taken the plunge n bought my first trials bike, it's a 2008 beta 250 four stroke . The lad I bought it off was really helpfull and even dropped it off for me, and gave me advice when I couldn't start it the next day lol I've had a few trips up and down the street and am defo out of my depth.. At 43 am I too old to learn ? I've had 20 years on the black stuff on sports bikes , but I dnt think it's gona help me any ha ha. can anybody help . i have a rev4t 08 . thats bad to start, fouling plug up , and struggles to rev clean. i have .......... re jetted carb,re set valves, had stator re wound, thouroughly cleaned out all carb and choke jets,new plugs, clean air filter, altered air screw , breather pipes clean

Hi folks I'm an old fogey who should probably know better, but I'd like to have a go at trials. I've been attending meetings in Kent, Sussex, Somerset and Devon sporadically for years just to watch, and have always found the sport fascinating - but I've never had a go. Is there any way to try it out first to see if you like it, before spending on a bike/trailer etc? A 'trials school' or similar? I'm in the UK, in Burnham-on-Sea, on the Somerset coast. TIA Barry

Hi, I'm need of a little help. I have a 1994 gas gas 327cc . The bike starts and then bogs out and dies after about 15 seconds? I noticed it will cold start then warm up a little then die out. It won't start when warmed up. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this bike please? Any info on this bike would be great I just got it and no nothing about it. I am brand New to trials.

Hi all, I've eventually got around to doing something about getting myself some info on the Classic Trials scene, I live in mid Wales so if anybody can point me in the right direction for local clubs and events that would be great. I have been thinking about getting a bike and riding for some time but not got around to doing it, but 2023 is going to be the year. I ride road bikes and have a collection of 70's and 80's Jap bikes which I have restored, so adding to that and doing any work is the easy bit. Thanks, Phil

Hi all. New to trials and there seems a lot to learn and there is a tonne of info on here that may take a while to chug through.... Strangest thing I have learned so far is that parts are easier to find for an old Fantic than for a 2000 Beta 250 Evo3, especially rear mud guards!! Anyway I am torn between three starter bikes. Honda TL125, Fantic 200 and a Yamaha TY250 - all vgc. Anyone have any views, hoping to view the Fantic at the weekend. Looking just to play about at the moment to see if I really like it and also to ride with my son on his Oset. Thanks all!

Hi Folks, I am lucky enough to have 9 acre wood and river area to mess about in but to be social I don't want to upset the neighbours so am looking for a "quiet" choice of bike. 2stroke or 4? 125 or 250? Any suggestions? I am new to this cracking sport though I have done a bit of off roading centuries ago! and have been on and off road bikes for 30 years or so.Thanks.

Been riding trials for about 9 years now and having a grand time . The last 4 or so on a D14 Bantam , I love old British bikes going back to a 69 Triumph that I rode all over the eastern US . The Bantam has been a long term project , with the help of my friend Bob at B&J racing and friends in England I think it has turned out well . Also been working to help promote our twinshock organization ITSA that is growing into a fine bunch of people that truly enjoy trials . Cheers , Bruce

Hello to you all thought before I started posting questions and eeking out years of knowledge I ought to bother to say hi. I'm no youngster (49) but fancy a bit of classic trials riding, I like playing in the garage and enjoy using my projects too. So far life has been on tarmac with old single matchless and 650 triumphs. My son is very much into the enduro scene and I admit that dabbling amonst the bushes and trees is my sort of thing albeit at a slower pace. I like many kids of the 70's scrambled around the local woods on old bantams and even honda 125's and found the challenge more satisfying than speed. Hi Folks just lashed out some of my pension on a Bultaco, eagerly awaiting its arrival, as the manual is enroute with the bike can anyone on the team advise me the ground clearance from the sump as want to purchase a bike lift off eBay. Thank you in anticipation.

I'm returning to trials after 25 years and am back on my trusty (not really, now a bad running nightmare) TY175. I found a few other enthusiasts and now someone selling new trials bikes.... 5 of us will try having the first competition in 20 years (as the sport died out...) at a four wheel drive event in an old quarry. Otherwise too spoilt for choice for amazing bits to ride in. Big thanks to Ian Allaway of JAMsport in Surrey who lent me a demo bike for the morning to put the grin back on my face when I was recently in UK!

Hi, I was lucky enough to watch a trials event for the 1st time a couple of weekends ago. It was in New York state near Elmira. I believe it was put on by a club/organization called District 4. Anyway, it was thoroughly enjoyable and I find myself interested in the sport. This seems like a great site to learn about the sport. My background is mostly with roadracing which I've declined to participate in for quite a few years now. I've been enjoying trail riding pretty continuously since 2001. Off road is utterly enjoyable for me and far less expensive. I've tried participating in one HS this past summer and I had a blast. I'm slow but I finished. I hope to do a …
