Hello, i've recently bought a 2002 Gas Gas txt250 Pro, my first trials bike. I've also got a Yamaha WR250 which I enduro. The txt needs some attention before i can ride it, the clucth is dragging, the back brake doesn't work and it needs a water pump kit. Any advise please. Stu

Ever since learning about motorcycles I've loved the idea of small, light, low power bikes that are fun. I got started on an XR-75 as a full grown adult and I've owned a variety of dirt bikes and other motorcycles. Most recently a honda sl125 which I put trials tires on figuring it will be as close as I ever get to owning a legit trials machine. I had that bike for a couple years and k used it on the street as well as back roads and trails but it was not one you could wheelie confidently. Hi all. My 14 year old has a KX85 Motorcross bike and to give him some riding time in a safe and legal enviroment we have paid our fee to Grant and have been using Eadon fields at dronfield. Im sure some of you will know it. Obviously while there we have seen the trials riders and im keen to have a go. I sold my last road bike 2 years ago and apart from a go on the lads bike have not riden since and have never riden trials. So at 47 am i too old to start? Im 5'8 and 11 stone reasonably fit, but im guessing it quite a physical sport. Any other late starters on here to offer advice? Cheers gary.

Hi, my names Tom, I’m from the midlands in the UK. I used to ride at Earl Shilton ESTC in Leicester. I started riding on a JCM (which is a French brand I believe, then stepped up to a Fantic and finally a Montesa Cota 315R (99). My reason for coming back to the game is a funny one...I keep having dreams that I ride again. I’m taking that as my mind telling me to get on with it! I also watched Ross Noble do the 6 day Scottish Trial and thought I’ll give it another go. Thank for having me! Tom

Hello people, Im returning to trials bikes after a couple of years off, after breaking my leg. In the past i have had a Bultaco sherpa, Fantic 240? perhaps! and then a Sherco 2.5 which i sold when i did my leg. I have just bought a Ty250 pinky, It weighs a ton. I need some advice on a rear tyre, its got a shagged X11 on it at the minute and would like to know what you people recommend i put on it? The Ty is just for fun use and i would prefer not to spend a fortune... Cheers, Dave.

Hello everyone. I just recently took up (or am attempting to take up...) trials. So far it's been a lot of fun and a good learning experience. I've been riding for a few years now and I guess I should have started this sooner, but hey, better late than never. I recently purchased a 2002 Montesa Cota 315 and so far I really like it, but then I really don't have any other trials experience to compare it to. Hopefully I will continue to have fun and maybe even get a little better at riding while I'm at it.

Hello all! I was an avid trials rider beginning in the early 1970s, and had MANY different trials motorcycles. Some brands were Ossa, Bultaco ( 3 Sherpa Ts), Greeves ( my first one), D.O.T., Saracen, and I am certain there were a few others in the mix. I rode enduros, motocross, and flat track as well. I still avidly ride road bikes, and collect and restore vintage bikes. But it was time to go back to my roots, and I purchased a 2012 Sherco 2.9. Tremendous difference between the 1970s era trials bikes and the modern ones. I have a lot of catching up to do, but love the sport and am a good listener and fast learner. Hi. I am a transplanted Brit who immigrated to Canada in 1974.I have been riding trials on and off for the past 45 years. Before leaving the UK I made the terrible mistake of getting rid of my Greeves Scottish early 60's X works bike. I believe it may have been Don Smiths ride at some point in his career. My present bike is a 1983 Can-Am 310 which I purchased from new. Also, along with the parts catalog and owners manual was a covering letter signed by the great Jeff Smith, who was a consultant for Can-Am at that time. Hi Guys, the last few weeks I've found myself on this forum almost daily looking for answers so I'm afraid I'm another one who can't offer ANYTHING but needs help! Background: My dad rode trials in the 70's (before moving onto Motocross) and has recently restored a '71 Bultaco Sherpa T which he's taken to a few local trials centres. I've just bought a complete shed of a Gasgas from a typically neglectful owner and I'm finding problems at every turn. I've got general motorcycle experience but nothing specific to trials so apologise in advance for many stupid questions. Cheers!

Hi Just bought a Montesa Cota 315R. Not sure yet how far I want to go with it. Realistically I'll probably just use it for the odd day out at Tom's farm and anywhere else I can find at first and then when its road registered will probably use it for green laning. Might like to get good enough to join a club but we will have to see how I get on with it! Been into Moto-x prior to this and have a Husqvarna CR430 (Aka the Swedish Satan) but at the moment I'm not riding it much as I am really struggling to find places in the midlands to ride it as I'm not into big jumps and tabletops etc and the only enduro track I know of is only open on Sunday and I can't do Sundays :-( B…

Hi All, Thank you for allowing me to sign up to this forum. I have been riding and racing (enduro's, MX and road racing) bikes a good part of my life but have just picked up my first trials bike. I have gotten a bit older (75) and figure it is time to really learn how to ride a bike. lol I recently picked up a 2023 Gas Gas 300 TXT Racing. I certainly will not be anywhere near the likes of Tony Bou but I am having fun. I reside in the northeast area of the US. I look forward to learning much from this forum.

Hello, I just joined the group and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Eddie, I live in Oakland, California. A few years ago I enjoyed riding AHRMA vintage trials on my Sherpa T 191 and also on a Suzuki RL Exacta. After falling off too many times I have retired from competition (I had great fun but never even placed except for the time I came in 2nd out of 2 at Hangtown) had both shoulders re-built, both knees scoped and now I'm rebuilding my bikes. Next on the bench will be the Sherpa T 191 that is intact with a fresh motor and just needs extensive cleaning up.
