Hi all,

My Mont is almost ready! After a 6 month lay-off to fit a new kitchen, move house then decorate the new house I finally found time to get into the garage and fettle the old girl!

Aktive reed valves.

Chrome down pipe.

Rear suspension bearings all renewed.

New back tyre.

New Air filter.

Oil change.

.....and a good clean up!

Note: Still got the footpegs to clean up/paint.

She's already had a 4-pot caliper fitted up fornt, a straight pipe fitted to the silencer and the timing advanced. This old 1999 Mont is NOT short of power.

PS. The chrome downpipe from Sandifords had the restrictor welded in place.....had to drill it out with a hole cutter.

WOW that chrome down pipe looks good on a '99 mont, how much did it cost?

A thing I would reccomend is that you fit some hebo foot pegs they are sooooooo much better than the standerd montesa ones. :D

Danny

Hmmm, I'll look into the Hebo pegs for sure......old pegs ALWAYS make a bike look tatty!.......who sells them?

I think the chrome pipe was about 50-60 quid.

Looks real good Ian!

I 'm just wondering what happened to the frame polishing, or was it too much of a nightmare.

Are you planning doing any BAMCC trials on it this year??

Hi,

I decided the frame polishing can wait till end of the summer........I might overhaul the engine at the same time then anyway.

I'll give ProBike a call......

I haven't done a BAMCC trial in years......no plans to do so, we just have toooooo much fun on our own making our own sections etc.

Ian.
